Ted Cruz Distorts Reality

Cruz (3)

We have some serious problems in America, and nearly all of them have been caused by the GOP. One individual member of the TEA Party is a greater threat to the American way of life than any other, and he wants to be your president. He wants to void the first amendment of the Bill of Rights. He wants to destroy all the advances made for the vast majority of Americans over the last 60 years. He has repeatedly attempted to repeal the Affordable Care Act, and failed. He refuses to acknowledge income inequality and the war on women waged by his party. He does not believe in the Republican Party and continues to demean it leaders. He is so destructive and ignorant that John Boehner once called him a ‘jackass.’ You know his name; he is acting in desperation as his poll numbers decline. He is the junior Senator from Texas; Ted Cruz.

Speaking to a very small crowd in Iowa this morning, he unwisely criticized last night’s Democratic debate. The primary reason he didn’t approve of the event is because he doesn’t understand what debate means. He is an attack dog for the wealthiest Americans with no ideas and no understanding of the Constitution or human rights.

“We’re seeing our freedoms taken away every day and last night was an audition for who would wear the jackboot most vigorously. Last night was an audition for who would embrace government power for who would strip your and my individual liberties,” he said.

Isn’t it the GOP who wants to revoke gay marriage, and control who the American people are allowed to love? Isn’t it the GOP, led by Mike Huckabee and Ted Cruz who want to make Christianity our national religion which is strictly prohibited in the first amendment? Isn’t it the GOP which seeks additional legislation to prevent a woman from choosing what to do with her own body? Isn’t it the GOP who wants to rush to war because they have no ability to use diplomacy? Isn’t it the GOP who would secure the Patriot Act in perpetuity and allow government to erase an individual’s freedom of privacy? I do believe that Mr. Cruz is a little confused as to which party wants to control American’s daily lives.

Cruz does not believe in negotiating with our enemies. He, nor his children would actually fight in another unwinnable war, but he sure would like one.

“It was interesting for America to see each and every Democratic candidate explain how what we need is an even weaker America, how we should withdraw even more from America” – he probably meant to say the world – “[and] avoid any conflict whatsoever with Iran, with Russia, with ISIS, with the lunatics who want to kill us.” Really?

When a member of the GOP is in office, America rushes to war, and loses. When a member of the GOP is in office the working class suffers, and poverty rises. When a member of the GOP is in office we lose additional freedoms and our rights remain firmly in the hand of government. It’s called ‘history,’ Mr. Cruz.
