Marco Rubio Lacks Work Ethic

Rubio (2)

We do not need another Ronald Reagan or George W. Bush in the White House. We need a president who will work for the American people, not spend his or her days taking naps going on vacation. The GOP candidates who want your vote in 2016 offer little difference, but one stands out above the rest as a man who would shirk his responsibilities. Marco Rubio appeared in the Senate to participate on a vote Tuesday. It was the first time he performed the job for which he was elected since September 24th.

He has missed nine votes in the last three-and-one-half weeks, and 44 percent overall since he declared his candidacy. He displayed his ignorance and lack of concern for his failing work ethic as he made a speech before the vote was taken.

“All we’re saying here is if you work at the (Veterans Affairs Department) and aren’t doing your job, they get to fire you,” Rubio said. “This should actually be the rule in the entire government – if you aren’t not doing your job you should be fired.”

He’s not wrong. The entire TEA Party, or Freedom Caucus as some call themselves, should be fired for failing to do their jobs. They are the reason the 113th and 114th Congress’ have the worst record in our nation’s history. Rubio is a member of the TEA Party.

Rubio has defended his failure to perform the job for which he was elected; would he do the same if he became the president?

“I’m frustrated. I’m in Washington DC watching all these problems that we just talked about and nothing is happening. And what I concluded is nothing’s going to change here unless we put the right person in the White House. And that’s why I decided to run for president and that means you are going to miss votes,” Rubio said.

Rubio’s lack of experience and knowledge will not change if he is not in Washington learning his trade today. Personally, it’s frightening to think that an unqualified candidate could be elected as our nation’s leader. These are times when the United States needs a knowledgeable person living in the White House. We have serious domestic problems which have been ignored by the GOP. Internationally we need a leader who can work with the heads of other nations and defeat terrorists hiding under the pretense of religious extremism. We don’t need a man or woman who has little or no experience, and would lead while experiencing ‘on the job training.’ We need a president who will work hard for all of our nation’s people and not only for special interests.

Marco Rubio is more interested in his personal life than the lives of the working class. His failure to be in the Senate when he is needed is unforgiveable. He said it himself; he should be fired, and he must not be rewarded for his lack of performance with a promotion.

In a little over a year our nation will elect a new leader. This man or woman must lead by example. He or she must be hard working and have the future of all Americans as their first priority. Rubio needs to find his seat on the Senate floor and occupy it.
