Trump would ‘fix’ Everything, but Doesn’t Know How

Trump

Long before he declared his candidacy, everyone knew that Donald Trump was a blowhard, and an egotist who needs the adulation of others. He claims that he can fix all of our nation’s problems, but he doesn’t know or say how. The only idea he has is to build a fence between the United States and Mexico. He is racist, bigoted, misogynistic, and does not believe in equal rights for everyone.

Although the vast majority of his comments border on the ridiculous, his latest proves that he knows nothing about governmental proceedings or the Constitution. Trump said that he would close mosques in the United States if they were associated with ISIS. He was asked if such an act would be in violation of religious freedom.

“Well, I don’t know. It depends on if the mosque is, you know, loaded for bear,” he said, using a hunting expression for being ready for violent opposition.

“You’re going to have to certainly look at it.”

The Muslim community responded:

“It is truly outrageous that the leading Republican presidential candidate would announce openly that he would violate the First Amendment to the US Constitution by closing down religious institutions,” Ibrahim Hooper, a spokesman for the Council on American-Islamic Relations, told The Daily News. “I hope this finally prompts people to speak out against this off-the-rails Islamophobia that we are seeing from the right wing of the American political sector.”

The Trump campaign has proven one thing to the people of our nation; he knows nothing about the complexity of leading our nation. A ‘President Trump’ would be a disaster for America and the world.

Talk is cheap, and Trump’s words lack intellectual content and a term he loves, ‘class.’

He continues to blame both George W. Bush and Bill Clinton for ignoring intelligence reports and allowing the attacks on 9/11 orchestrated by Osama bin Laden. On this issue he owns a little credibility. But he didn’t mention the attacks ordered by Bill Clinton on Al Qaeda in Afghanistan in 1997.

Trump continues to praise himself as a great negotiator and a leader of men. But what has he actually accomplished? Real estate negotiations are mostly the result of offers, counter offers, and final agreements made by lawyers. He is also responsible for failed casinos in Atlantic City which cost more than 2,500 individuals their jobs.

Recently in Iowa Trump declared himself a ‘good Christian,’ which is in direct opposition to other statements and accusations. He hates Hispanics, and constantly uses name-calling tactics. He is judgmental and seeks to win voters with emotional weaponry.

In Iowa he argued against ‘political correctness.’ He said that when he becomes president, people will be saying ‘Merry Christmas’ once again instead of ‘Happy Holidays.’

Trump’s believers are unified in their support of the candidate, and demonstrated by a single interview.

“He actually says what I want to hear and he’s not worried about telling somebody or saying it in a way that doesn’t sound real,” said Cynthia Forth, a 60-year-old from Crawfordsville, Iowa. “I want to hear (it) straight. He’ll give it to you straight.”

Ms. Forth may be correct, but I would think she’d like to hear the truth, and direct answers to questions instead of euphemisms such as; ‘it’ll be great;’ it’s going to be huge;’ ‘we’ll make it better;’ and other statements which have no real meaning.
