The GOP continues to prove its insanity. They perform the same actions repeatedly and expect different results. Whether it is an attempt to repeal the Affordable Care Act, or grill Hillary Clinton about the tragedy in Benghazi, they continue to focus on reruns. Although it has been proven that the films denigrating Planned Parenthood were altered, these extremists continue to waste time and money on ‘investigations.’

Members of Congress are members of the wealthy class. They continue to deny the needs and even the rights of low-income and even impoverished women. The women in Congress are worse than their male counterparts when they deny a woman’s right to have control over her own body. They are religious extremists who would force all women to abide by their misguided beliefs.

In one of his last questionable actions Speaker of the House John Boehner has created a panel of eight to investigate Planned Parenthood. Four of the members are women.

One of these traitorous women is Diane Black of Tennessee. She authored a bill titled the ‘Defund Planned Parenthood Act of 2015.’ This bill is a ridiculous effort to refuse abortions for women of little financial means. It would remove all federal funds for Planned Parenthood if any of its affiliates perform abortions for any reason other than rape, incest, or medical necessity.

The problem here is that no federal funds have been used for abortions by the organization since 1976. But how would Black know this fact? She is just one of many unqualified members of Congress.

“Recent videos exposing the abortion-for-baby parts business have shocked the nation, and demanded action. At my request, three House committees have been investigating the abortion business, but we still don’t have the full truth. Chairman Blackburn and our members will have the resources and the subpoena power to get to the bottom of these horrific practices, and build on our work to protect the sanctity of all human life,” Boehner said in a statement.

This is nothing less than a blatant lie and a thinly veiled attack against women and their rights. Planned Parenthood has saved the lives of millions of poor women across the United States.

The GOP has moved so far to the right it has proven itself wrong for our nation’s people. It wants to deny civil rights to everyone with the exception of the one-percent. It chooses to support only those who support it; the wealthy and the Christian religious right.

Abortion was instituted into politics by conservatives. It should never have become an issue. A woman must retain the right to make decisions regarding her own health, her own medical condition. For Christians abortion is a sin, unless a family member decides that this is her best alternative. These hypocrites fail to admit that all women who make decisions to terminate a pregnancy do so while undergoing a torturous thought process. Each situation is personal and cannot be judged by men.

It is repellent that women in the GOP deny their peers the rights they demand for themselves. The wealthy seek control over the poor, and our nation is quickly moving towards a plutocracy.
