I just viewed a new poll which reveals that support for the TEA Party is dwindling. I don’t understand; how can even one intelligent and rational person support this group of extremists?
Since 2010 when some of our wealthiest citizens created the TEA Party our government has failed to do its job. Significant legislation has rarely been passed in Washington as deliberation and compromise were eliminated from the process. In 2013 our government was shut down; the movement was led by a member of the TEA Party. Time and money was wasted when the House voted over 50 times to repeal the Affordable Care Act. Not a single new idea has come from this relatively small group of elected officials. They don’t want to work for positive change in America, they want everything their way, and destroy what has worked for 60 years. John Boehner is relinquishing his position as Speaker after far too many fights with this small group of obstructionists.
Simply take a look at some who represent the TEA Party. (Some in the House realized that they have earned a bad name and now call themselves the ‘Freedom Caucus.’)
Sarah Palin is a perfect example of a TEA Party darling. She knows nothing, lacks basic intelligence, criticizes everyone, and has no ideas. She and her family have embarrassed themselves and our nation on multiple occasions.
Scott Walker was considered a front runner for the 2016 nomination. He is now back home in Wisconsin. His only accomplishments as the state’s governor were breaking unions and changing the state’s fiscal policy to ‘trickle-down’ economics. The state is now struggling to pay its bills. After losing support from constituents in his own state, his finances began to dwindle. One of the TEA Party four was finished.
Of course there is Ted Cruz. Cruz has repeatedly attempted to shut down the government, and repeal the Affordable Care Act. He is at war with his own party’s leaders, Mitch McConnell and John Boehner. His every move is to destroy successful legislation which positively affects the working class. He is so paranoid that he actually believes that President Obama had planned to take over the state of Texas with military force. Really?
Lastly there is Marco Rubio. It’s hard to say anything about the junior Senator from Florida; he does nothing, and has little to say. He is waiting for the other candidates to ‘knock each other off.’ He does so little that he has missed approximately 40 percent of the votes in the Senate since he began his campaign for the White House.
I didn’t mention Rand Paul because everyone knows everything about him. He’s been campaigning since the day he was elected to the Senate.
Members of the TEA Party were elected by big money. They are unqualified and have no loyalty to the American people. They are THE reason why the GOP is imploding. It’s time for them to become their own party; it’s an insult to true Republicans that they run under their banner in election years.
