GOP Does not have a Front Runner

3 of the clowns

The polls mean nothing. Today a CBS poll placed Ben Carson four points ahead of Donald Trump. The major media has been talking about it all day and claiming different reasons for the change. This is the weakest field the GOP has ever presented, and I believe that none of them are actually leading the way at this time.

70 percent of those polled also said that they had no idea who they would actually vote for when it was their states turn to have a primary or a caucus. Voters must remember that around this same time in 2012 Herman Cain was leading in the polls at 26 percent, the same as Ben Carson today.

Some would blame the numbers game. The GOP originally had 17 wannabees; only two have dropped out. I believe the truth is that no single candidate has proven to be qualified because they don’t talk about the issues; they continue to play the attack game.

Tuesday’s poll revealed that no other candidate other than Carson or Trump polled in double figures. Marco Rubio was in third place with eight percent; Carson was 26 and Trump 22. We won’t know much until February when Iowa holds its caucus on the first, and New Hampshire has its primary on the eighth.

GOP voters are above else, unpredictable. Who would have believed that they would give George W. Bush a second term? I’m aware that they wanted to believe the lies of Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld, but to actually give a man who had proven his lack of basic intelligence a second chance to ‘screw up’ the country was at the least foolish. Sometimes you get what you vote for.

When John McCain chose Sarah Palin as his running mate in 2008, I thought: “That will get Barrack Obama a large number of crossover votes.” They didn’t, and gave me proof that they will vote for anyone.

It’s very hard for me to believe that right wing voters would cast their ballots for someone with no experience or qualifications such as Trump or Carson, but I’ve been wrong before. I keep looking at the other 13 passengers in the clown car, and I can’t make myself consider any of them living in the White House.

If Hillary Clinton secures the Democratic nomination she is likely to crush any one of them. The way she conducted herself at yet another eleven hour Benghazi farce proved that her intellect far surpasses any of her GOP rivals. That waste of time along with her performance at the first Democratic debate proves that she is not only well-qualified to lead our nation but has the intelligence and demeanor to be a great leader.

Meanwhile, let’s look at some of the others in the GOP. After Carson and Trump was Rubio. He has done nothing, said nothing, and is simply waiting for the leaders to commit suicide. He has failed to cast a vote in the Senate 40 percent of the time since he declared his candidacy.

Jeb Bush is just another Bush. He lacks the intelligence of his older brother, and that’s frightening. He admits he would reinstitute his brother’s failed policies.

Ted Cruz would be worse than a Bush. He is the destructive politician in Washington. He wouldn’t be able to compromise because he wouldn’t want to, and that would create even greater gridlock.

Then there are Mike Huckabee, Chris Christie, and Carly Fiorina; please spare me!

We have approximately four months until a GOP front runner can be declared.
