Brady’s Success is not Based on his Ability

Brady

Three weeks ago I thought the problem with the Miami Dolphins was their coach. After Thursday night’s game I now know it is the players who are the problem. They lack basic intelligence and a desire to perform at the highest level. Two wins were an illusion. After an unforgiveable safety and then a punt returner catching a ball inside the ten yard line, it is obvious that the Dolphins left their brains at home.

The Miami defense is playing adequately, but the offense lacks desire and intelligent effort. Miami’s honeymoon with their new interim coach is over. But bashing Miami is easy. Let’s get to the core of how the Patriots win games.

You may despise him as much as I do because of his questionable tactics, but Bill Belichick is the greatest coach in the history of professional football. He has taken teams which had no talent and converted them into Super Bowl contenders. The proof is demonstrated by Tom Brady. He is the most overrated quarterback in NFL history. When he is physically challenged by opponents he is completely ineffective. He does not deal well with pressure and is immobile. Belichick’s offensive protection has given Brady undeserved success. If he was on the roster of any other team it is unlikely that he would be the starter.

I played quarterback when I was young. If I had a coach like Belichick and never felt pressure, I could have completed 100 percent of my passes. Brady has benefitted from having the best coach in professional football. His losses have come when he was unable to overcome pressure by defenses and panicked as he was experiencing the possibility of physical pain.

Let’s give doubters a scenario. If Brady was the quarterback for today’s Houston Texans he would likely be in traction. He would not have a winning record, and his Hall of Fame credentials would be non-existent. Without Belichick he would be Brian Hoyer. He would be labeled an average quarterback without the possibility of  a Super Bowl contender.

Tonight’s game guarantees that Miami will be in a battle with Buffalo to decide who is the worst team in the division. The Dolphins lack the desire to compete in the AFC East.

The NFL is not a league dominated by talent alone. If that was the sole reason for Super Bowl victories the history of professional football would have experienced drastic changes.

Miami continued to prove that they are one of the worst teams in the NFL. The final score is irrelevant, the proof was in the execution. The owners spent millions of dollars in the off season attempting to buy a winning team. We only need to look at the Los Angeles Dodgers in professional baseball to see how well that works.

Belichick will win another game at home, and Tom Brady will be vindicated for his crimes. For over a decade he has been protected by the officials because of Patriot’s owner’s Bob Kraft’s relationship with Commissioner Roger Goodell. ‘Deflategate’ became a non-issue and gave Brady immunity from facing the truth. Multiple players have been suspended from games for very minor violations away from the game. Brady violated the rules during a playoff game to secure an advantage, but was forgiven because of his sainthood.

I admit that I am a ‘Brady hater,’ but I have multiple reasons and evidence to substantiate that stature.

I will always have one situation which will give me satisfaction for all time. Forever in the history of the NFL Brady will be known as the quarterback who won 18 games but lost the Super Bowl. That truth will haunt Brady for eternity.
