TEA Party Favorites Ignore the American People

Paul

There is one truth above all regarding the TEA Party, or Freedom Caucus, whatever they call themselves now; they don’t listen to and don’t care about the concerns of the vast majority of Americans. The support special interest, not the working class, and then they attempt to convince us to join them by using phrases such as ‘what the American people want,’ or ‘what America feels.’

I don’t need to be told what I want; I want an effective government which addressed the serious domestic issues facing our nation. I want a government which is willing to compromise, not one which always says ‘no’ first.

The worst two members of the TEA Party are Ted Cruz, and a distant second, Rand Paul.

Ted Cruz has once again attempted to derail a budget deal and shutdown the federal government. He failed this time as more reasonable legislators refused to give into a small group of extremists and obstructionists.

Rand Paul is angry that it passed. He went into a rage on the floor of the Senate early this morning. The statement he made was entirely false; polls prove that more than three-fourths of the American people do not want a shutdown again. That didn’t stop Senator Paul from saying the following:

“The establishment in Washington is completely and utterly tone-deaf to the way America feels about this.” We may not be entirely pleased, but logic and common sense must prevail.

He and his TEA Party cronies never listen to the working class; they have their own agenda.

Other things they tell us we believe are even more ludicrous. They say that we don’t want to see taxes raised for the wealthiest Americans and their loopholes and deductions revoked; they ignore the fact that corporations must be recognized for what they are, job destroyers; they ignore the fact that the majority of Americans approve of same-sex marriage; although most of our nation’s people believe in a path for legal residence for approximately eleven million people, they don’t care; nearly all people believe in total equality for women without reservation, while they consider them second class citizens.

What I really want is for Republicans to remove the TEA Party from their midst and return our government to its rightful owners; the American people.
