Three badly staged debates have proven that GOP candidates are good at only two things; they are a group which believes in lying to get votes, and their only other method is attacking someone with additional lies or half-truths to gain notoriety. They can’t talk about the issues, because the issues important to the great majority of Americans are not important to them.
Chris Christie is lagging badly in the polls. He took a step proving that his ‘desperation is showing.’
“We have liberal policies that tie the hands behind the backs of police officers and then when incidents happen, accuse them of misconduct first and then do the investigation later,” Christie said Monday. “And you’ve got a president of the United States who does not support law enforcement. Simply doesn’t.”
Let’s get the facts straight. The first true statement about the issue is that the GOP does not believe that blacks are treated differently than whites by law enforcement, which results in unfortunate rebellion.
“They’re not surprising for somebody whose poll numbers are closer to an asterisk than they are double digits,” said Press Secretary Josh Earnest.
The fact is that President Obama believes in a complete overhaul of our judicial system. He is asking for the cessation of putting individuals in prison for lengthy periods of time for possession of a controlled substance. He wants better training for all law enforcement which would include courses pertaining to community relations.
The United States has more people in prison than any other developed country, and their sentences are longer for similar crimes.
The President himself had this to say about Christie’s remarks:
“We do have to stick with the facts,” Obama told the International Association of Chiefs of Police last Tuesday in Chicago. “What we can’t do is cherry-pick data or use anecdotal evidence to drive policy or to feed political agendas.”
But why should members of the GOP start using facts? They don’t really help them; they just force them to explain previous lies.
