Watching the GOP and Democratic debates was as if I was watching presidential wannabees from two separate countries. All three of the GOP shows revealed unprepared and ill-informed candidates who either refused to or were not able to answer questions about their qualifications and the issues. All three debates devolved into mutual attacks and name-calling. The latter is merely proof of a lack of intelligence, and having nothing of value to say.
An educated person is aware of the fact that name calling is only done by those who cannot state facts. Donald Trump not only calls Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders names, he gives equal ‘respect’ to his fellow candidates. It may be entertainment and fodder for the late-night talk show hosts, but it does not add to a candidates qualifications.
During the third debate Marco Rubio continually called Hillary Clinton a liar in a continued claim that she was partially to blame for the tragedy in Benghazi. She had recently finished eleven hours of grilling by his party and she destroyed forever implications of any neglect.
Attacks are the only weapons in the right wing arsenal. Not a single GOP candidate has refrained from them. Issues and ideas are not their strong points.
Those on the left are far more civil. They talk in complete sentences, answer questions, and understand the meaning of respect. They debate real ideas with clear and precise speech, offering proof of intellectual research. They disagree on many subjects, or how to accomplish other concepts, but they do not become attack dogs.
This attitude from the right is displayed by their supporters. I, and others who write from a progressive point of view, frequently receive comments about our articles filled with obvious feelings of hatred. These people don’t simply disagree with me, they are filled with anger, and include name calling but never ideas in direct opposition to my comments. Their lack of intellect is revealed by their hate-filled responses.
Liberal journalists dissect statements made by the right wing, but do not call them names or attack them personally. None of them act like Sean Hannity who recently stooped to the lowest form of pretend-journalism.
Invited to be on his show was Quentin Tarantino’s father, Tony. He and his son are not on speaking terms.
Quentin Tarantino is speaking against police brutality against the black community; a subject denied by Hannity and his twin Bill O’Reilly. Hannity asked the senior Tarantino why he agreed to be on the show.
“He didn’t look at both sides of the story,” the elder Tarantino said. “I’m here, not just because I’m his biological father, but because I’m a concerned citizen for what’s right in our communities today.”
“What he did and what he said is dead wrong. I’m 100 percent on that,” he added. “I would like to see him come back out and take a second look at what he did and what he said, and apologize for it. That would help. That would make a difference.”
The obvious difference between father and son is that one is taking a stand for civil and human rights, and the other is a racist and friend of Sean Hannity’s.
I am aware that FOX Noise is losing ratings, and I guess that Hannity is desperate to keep his millions of dollars in income and continue to tell lies for the fake-news network.
