GOP Candidates Can’t Handle Journalists

Clown Car directors

After all the complaining by Ted Cruz about the third GOP debate on CNBC, only one conclusion can be made. GOP hopefuls are spoiled; they can’t deal with real journalists.

Let’s think about it; when a GOP presidential wannabe appears on FOX Noise, he or she is given questions ahead of time. This allows the individual to prepare answers which pander to the base. Because FOX does not employ real journalists, they have no concerns that they may be required to answer questions with any level of difficulty.

After the debate ended, and the complaints about the moderators raged on, I wanted to understand what the problem was. I had recorded it, so I watched most of it once again, fast-forwarding through parts which lacked substance; (there was more than I thought). Cruz and his cronies were mistaken. The questions were mostly fair, and gave the candidates an opportunity to place themselves above the rest.

I did notice one important item; the moderators were not prepared adequately. If they would have been they would have demanded answers and the truth from Trump, Carson, Cruz, and Rubio when they were asked fair and direct questions. Trump and Carson blatantly lied to the audience, and Cruz and Rubio refused to answer questions related to their abilities to be our nation’s leader.

They obviously all felt like: “Toto, we’re not at FOX Noise anymore.”

Then the candidates slipped further into their own fantasyland. They accused the media of being biased toward progressives. Really? Donald Trump has had more press than any other candidate by a wide margin. Republicans have attempted to keep Hillary Clinton in the news, but only related to her private e-mail account and Benghazi; and the mainstream media obliged.

To describe what the GOP candidates really want in a debate, all we need to do is look at a statement made by the most extreme of all the candidates, Ted Cruz. He actually said that he would like to have Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity as moderators. You can’t make this stuff up. But when you can’t, or won’t, answer questions about the issues, what can you do? You need individuals who would avoid asking any question you had not previously been given, and no questions about a shady personal life or any other subject which might expose the truth would be allowed. As Reince Priebus indicated; ‘we want the GOP to look good.’ Has he seen the clown car passengers all standing on the same stage at the same time? There is no way to make that look good.
