The spin doctors are out. While the GOP is imploding, some are in denial and are making false and even hilarious claims that it is the Democratic Party which is in trouble. One pundit points to the election of Matt Bevin as Kentucky’s governor. But they fail to state the facts. He didn’t run on issues; as it is with all members of the GOP, he had none. He ran on religion, and weak minded southern voters believed that he was a good and devout Christian. This is the only way Republicans and TEA Party members can win elections; prey on the emotions of uninformed voters.
The truth is that the GOP refuses to move forward. They remain anti-black, anti-Hispanic, and anti-women. They continue to deny science, income inequality, and the need for more inexpensive higher education. The latter is not surprising; statistics show that voters who have attained higher levels of education tend to vote for Democrats, and those with less education vote for GOP candidates.
GOP politicians are fearful that once again they will fail to win the White House. I have a solution for them; offer the American people a qualified candidate who speaks about the issues important to all Americans, not just special interests. Stop giving us Donald Trump, Ben Carson, Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, Carly Fiorina, and Mike Huckabee. They have nothing to offer the American people. They have no workable plans for the future of the majority.
Three sad and angry faux-debates have displayed a lack of intelligence and quality. After the third they complained loudly about the moderators. Why? Because they couldn’t or wouldn’t answer the questions. As President Obama joked, ‘how would they handle the Chinese or the Russians?’
The GOP has no effective leadership, and it is declining even further. Whoever has the popular position on the issues will win the general election. The GOP fears the presidential debates; none of its offerings can compete with Hillary Clinton.
The election is one year and two days away. The GOP will win with its card-carrying members; those who vote for a Republican candidate for that reason only, even if he or she is totally unqualified. However, Independents, who are growing in numbers, and some potential crossover Democrats, will flock to Hillary Clinton’s side.
If the Electoral College did not exist, the GOP would have zero chances in 2016. This is their only hope. I can guarantee today that Ms. Clinton will easily win the popular vote. Red states vote against Democrats, not for those from the GOP. This is the saddest fact in our election system. The proof is there. They elected individuals such as Rubio, who fails to do his job, Cruz, who ignores the wishes of the American people for his extremist ideas, and Paul, whose ambitions and pandering have become normal. In the past they elected George W. Bush; the worst president in the history of our nation.
The GOP has good reason to fear Democrats; it offers nothing of substance, and their candidates are backward thinking individuals.
