GOP Offers us Ben Carson: Really?

Doctor

Is this the best the GOP can offer the American people; Ben Carson? He is the most unqualified candidate ever to lead in the polls. He has never led or governed anyone or anything; he tells blatant lies; and he is a religious extremist. Although we won’t hear about it, I’m certain some real Republicans are embarrassed.

Not only does he deny science, he offers outrageous ‘personal’ beliefs. Think about that; he believes in fantasy.

According to Carson, the Great Pyramids were not built by the Egyptians to entomb their Pharaohs. They were built by ‘Joseph’ for grain storage. I’m not making this up, check my source.

Carson is among the majority in the GOP; he blindly believes in the teachings of his religious leaders who cannot offer an iota of proof. He is obviously not a man who studies history. His Seventh-Day Adventist faith is extreme, but that’s not the problem.

Our forefathers founded the United States for multiple reasons. At the top of the list was religious freedom. The majority of those who signed the Declaration of Independence were not religious; they were Deists. They were unified in their belief that some supernatural being created the heavens and earth, but that he or she is not concerned with our daily lives, and does not maintain contact with humans.

Carson comingles religion with government; a serious mistake and a serious problem for the American people. This alone should forbid him political office. He would not represent anyone who is not Christian; he wouldn’t represent me.

Ben Carson’s rationale for his belief: “The pyramids were made in a way that they had hermetically sealed compartments,” he said. “You wouldn’t need hermetically sealed compartments for a sepulcher. You would need that if you were trying to preserve grain for a long period of time.”

Once again he reveals his lack of historical fact. He fails to understand the religious practices of the people of Egypt.

Listening to Carson and Trump you would believe that the 2016 election is frivolous and lacks importance. They are wrong and dangerous for the future of our nation. GOP voters must take their right to vote seriously. Great international and domestic problems face our 45th president. He or she must be a great and knowledgeable leader. He or she must have great diplomatic skills and keep our nation from rushing into another unwinnable war. He or she must represent all of our nation’s people and face the fact that the working class cannot be ignored any longer. He or she must believe in the Constitution and its guarantee of freedom for all of our nation’s people, regardless of religious belief, race, or sexual orientation.

Those who live in fantasyland; those who are racist and bigoted; and those who deny the reality that our nation is in decline; they must not receive consideration for the most powerful political office in the world. We had a ‘regular guy’ as our 43rd president; we can’t afford to have another one living in the White House. We deserve and must have an exceptional person; a truly qualified and intelligent leader.
