Unqualified GOP Candidates and Why

Cruz

All of the 15 GOP presidential wannabees are completely unqualified to receive their party’s presidential nomination, about that I have no doubt. Several of them have disqualified themselves by seeking a violation of the first amendment of the Constitution. Ben Carson, Ted Cruz, and Mike Huckabee all have a goal; reinvent the United States as a theocracy.

The first amendment clearly states that there will not be a national religion. Our founding fathers left England because of religious persecution by the Anglican Church.

Ted Cruz was speaking in Iowa at an evangelical gathering.

“The last election, 2012, 54 million evangelicals stayed home. Fifty-four million,” the GOP presidential candidate told the crowd of about 1,500. “Is it any wonder the federal government is waging a war on life, on marriage, on religious liberty when Christians are staying home and our leaders are being elected by nonbelievers?”

Let’s break this completely ridiculous statement apart.

Cruz’s war on life is his anti-abortion position. What he is in reality is anti-woman. He voted against every bill which would have assisted women in their efforts to receive equal treatment under the law. In the event that a choice had to be made during the birth of a child whether to save the life of the mother or the fetus, Cruz said he would choose the fetus.

The subject of marriage is another iota of proof that Cruz is homophobic. His position on same-sex marriage is unconstitutional; he is simply pandering to the Christian religious right.

His claim of attacks on religious liberty are nothing less than laughable. It is Christians who are attempting to control my life. I actually believe in religious freedom for all faiths.

Cruz would not represent our nation’s people; he would be selective and only protect and serve those who agree with his views.

Mike Huckabee said this to the audience:

“I’ve never had a job in Washington so don’t blame me for the failures of Washington. But I do believe that it’s important to have somebody who can articulate our vision and message, somebody who has had the experience of working a political climate that is extraordinarily hostile.”

“Our vision and image” simply means that he too wants to make our nation a theocracy.

Ben Carson has indicated that he is aligned with Cruz and Huckabee, but he is even crazier; he is a Seventh-Day Adventist.

They don’t get it. Rational thought refuses to accept a preacher telling the American people how to live their lives. They do not accept America or the Constitution, they want to change it to suit their personal beliefs. All of our nation’s people must have the freedom to live their lives in a manner decided by them, not by a faux-Christian.

Cruz, Huckabee, and Carson have disqualified themselves from consideration for our nation’s highest office. These three men are traitors who wish to alter the law of the land; or are they simply pandering to get votes? It may be the latter.

None of these men has read the Bible. If they had they would follow the admonitions of Jesus Christ and not those of another man. He commanded his followers to love all men, and most importantly, not judge them. He did not lead through anger and hatred; He led by love, peace, and example.

None of these three can rightfully call themselves ‘Christian.’
