You Elected Him Florida: Now Deal With It

Scott

It’s obvious that voters in Florida knew nothing about Rick Scott before they elected him as their Governor. Now that he has been in office for four years you would hope that they would know who and what he is. He is another TEA Party darling who wants to destroy rather than create. Reelecting him in 2014 is perplexing; he’s bad for Florida’s people. Today 49 percent of Floridians disapprove of his job performance, and only 42 percent approve.

The most popular elementary school in the state is ‘home school.’ Florida ranks 28th in school systems across the nation, as Scott continues to reduce funding. But that’s not enough, he is waging a campaign to cut another one-billion dollars from the state’s budget, which would harm the state’s businesses and remove more funding for education and education-related programs. He joins Scott Walker of Wisconsin as the main factor for a state struggling to maintain its quality of life.

Scott is not done yet. He rejected the Medicaid extension offered by the federal government, which cost the state very little and provides health care for the state’s impoverished citizens. At the same time he and the state’s House approved a package for themselves which requires an extremely low monthly premium. An individual would contribute $8.34 each month, and for a family $30. Lower level state employees pay about $50 for and individual and $180 for a family.

Why is it that GOP politicians at the state and federal level gladly accept exceptional benefits, paid for by those they are intended to serve, but deny their constituents adequate health care? Cruz, Rubio, and Paul all want to repeal the Affordable Care Act but accept the best health care in the world for themselves. Something is terribly wrong in our nation and it smells like our government.

Before his term expires, Scott will destroy the state of Florida in the same manner Walker is destroying Wisconsin. He will support big business but deny small business and his people. Walker is using $250 million of taxpayer’s money to help fund the construction of a new Milwaukee Bucs basketball arena. What will Scott support and approve the use of his state’s tax revenues?

All I can say is ‘you elected him,’ now you’re stuck with him. The citizens of Florida will pay dearly for a serious mistake.
