No one really knew her. She was a state senator in Iowa and a Lieutenant Colonel in the National Guard. She had considered a long shot bid for a seat in the United States Senate, but other candidates and Democrat Bruce Braley were better funded and well known by voters.
What she didn’t know is that a representative of the Koch brothers was watching her closely. The founders of the TEA Party invited her to join other extremists in a posh gathering at Albuquerque’s Santa Ana Pueblo.
This was 2013; the Koch brothers were looking for extreme conservatives who would fight Republicans and Democrats in Congress, and vote for their interests, primarily pipelines. After a well-funded campaign based on lies and the use of fear tactics, Joni Ernst was elected as a United States Senator in November of 2014.
Obviously her loyalties are to the Koch brothers and their interests, and not to the Republican Party or the American people.
Here’s what Joni Ernst was told to believe.
On abortion, she wants to pass an amendment to the Constitution stating that human life begins at conception. A fetus would be given the status of ‘personhood,’ which would eliminate abortion under any and all circumstances.
Ernst would eliminate all government spending with the exception of the defense budget; she wants it to grow. Increased profit for those invested in the military industrial complex is a must.
She is opposed to same-sex marriage. Ernst says that marriage is a ‘religious’ institution between one man and one woman.
Ernst would remove all oversight of Wall Street and Corporations. She favors the same criminal actions allowed by the Bush Administration.
Under the Koch doctrine, Ernst supports the Keystone pipeline and unrestricted drilling. She doesn’t believe that climate change is caused by man’s use of fossil fuels.
She supports all ‘free trade’ agreements at the expense of the American worker.
Ernst supports the racist policy of a growing number of red states and would require ID at the polls.
Guns should be unrestricted. The NRA lobby gives her its highest rating.
Ernst would repeal the Affordable Care Act.
Her only position on immigration mimics Donald Trump’s; build a fence.
Ernst is against an increase in the federal minimum wage, but favors tax breaks for corporations.
This is the woman who the Koch brothers paid for and the citizens of Iowa elected. Although she is a female, she is a misogynist, believing that the war on women does not exist, and equal pay is not logical.
This is the TEA Party in full regalia. Members owe their loyalty to their owners, and do not represent the working class. They seek to repeal the first amendment and control future elections. This is a small but well-funded group which has disrupted our government and created gridlock never seen before in our country. They are the reason the GOP is imploding.
Two characteristics create a member of the TEA Party; their elections were bought and paid for; and they are unqualified to be in office.
