Ted Cruz Fear Mongering

Truz

The people of Texas elected Ted Cruz for a seat in the Senate in 2012. His accomplishments for the people of Texas and our nation are nil. He has continuously attempted to destroy the positive achievements of those who preceded him. As he campaigns for the GOP presidential nomination, he has used two tactics; pandering to the Christian religious right, and fear mongering.

Appearing in Orlando, Florida, on Friday, he attacked fellow TEA Party darling Marco Rubio for supporting immigration reform. While he admitted his fear that an increase in legal Hispanic residents would result in additional votes for Democrats, he twisted legal residence into fear for the audience.

“If you’re supporting amnesty, you’re supporting Common Core,” Cruz intoned at the Faith Assembly of God, an Orlando megachurch where he spoke for 53 minutes. “If you’re supporting amnesty, you’re supporting the Obama-Clinton abandoning of the nation of Israel. … If you’re supporting amnesty, you’re supporting the Ayatollah Khamenei having nuclear weapons in Iran.”

What a stretch. Equating legal residence for nearly 12 million undocumented residents and nuclear power for Iran. Really?

Cruz has many enemies, including those in his own party. With every angry speech he alienates additional GOP voters.

“It’s Democrats who want to reform immigration, Cruz argued, to sign up more voters and win more elections.

“What Republican in their right mind would support that?” Cruz asked. “Rubio!” shouted some people in the crowd.

When Donald Trump, Ben Carson, or Ted Cruz enter the building, logic leaves. Deporting 12 million people, a ten-percent flat tax, and refusing to address sensible immigration reform are foolhardy and pure fantasy. None of these three men believe in the Constitution or the ideal of America which our founding fathers created.

This campaign season has brought out the worst of America. The anger and hatred demonstrated during four GOP faux-debates are only surpassed by Donald Trump’s vicious personal attacks post-debate. Trump is a blight upon a nation once composed of compassionate and tolerant people. We are becoming a nation created by fear and occupied by citizens filled with hate and mistrust.

Each GOP candidate is sure to receive a thank-you note from Satan; if he or she exists.
