It’s commonplace for the 15 GOP candidates to say something which makes the reader go ‘huh?’ They all do it, and constantly prove that they are not worthy to live in the White House. Marco Rubio is considered by the wishful thinkers to be the leading candidate for the party’s nomination. If he is, they should be ashamed.
Rubio does not understand that ISIS, Al Qaeda, and other terrorist groups who claim to be Muslims, are not. They match most Christians in America who refuse to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. Rubio should read the Quran and the Bible; he just might learn something.
Anyone can claim to be a devout follower of any religion, but actions often counteract their words.
Rubio is angry with Ms. Clinton because she refused to use his term “radical Islam” during last night’s debate.
“That would be like saying we weren’t at war with Nazis, because we were afraid to offend some Germans who may have been members of the Nazi Party but weren’t violent themselves,” Mr. Rubio said Sunday on ABC’s “This Week.”
I’m not sure Rubio ever opened a history book. The term “Nazi” did not refer to a religion. It was a political party, and nearly as unsavory as the TEA Party, which Rubio represents. Religions are a personal belief, or at least they should be. It would be inaccurate to call anyone a “radical Islamist.” If one is a true follower of Muhammad, he or she would never resort to violence against innocent men, women and children.
“As Hillary Clinton said last night, we are at war with radical jihadist terrorism, not an entire religion,” Brian Fallon, a Clinton campaign spokesman, said in an email Sunday. “The Republicans are focused on a phrase because they have no real strategy to confront the terrorist threat we face.”
And there it is.
The GOP has many problems, but the largest is obviously a lack of education and intellect.
Four faux-debates by the GOP have given the American people nothing of substance, while both by the Democrats have allowed us to know exactly where the candidates stand on the issues.
Rubio has a long way to go to convince anyone but hardcore members of the GOP that he possesses the qualities necessary to lead our nation.
