Since the events of September 11, 2001, our leaders have kept the American people in a state of fear. It began with their ridiculous color coding system designating the level of terrorism danger. Bush used constant fear tactics to win his reelection in 2004. This fear has spread to our daily lives, and remains a tool for politicians. Fear is foolish for the average American. We must rely on our government for the type of protection we cannot afford ourselves. We have enough to fear within our own borders.
Senseless fear forced a near panic over the Ebola virus. The NRA gun lobby creates fear among the weak-minded daily. A knee-jerk reaction by some of our nation’s governors has resulted in a refusal to accept Syrian refugees after Saturday’s senseless attacks in Paris. Fear is our national weakness, and has replaced hope and faith. The worst effect of this emotion is that it has changed our nation, and it is highly unlikely that we will find a way to return our nation to the time when it was a great country.
Fear’s natural spawn is anger; and politicians encourage this effect. They have intentionally encouraged anger to divide our nation to a degree not experienced since the Civil War. They know that if they can encourage a higher level of anger it will eventually become hatred. We see proof of this every day in newspaper headlines and on the internet.
If we continue to allow our leaders to use emotional weakness as a method to win elections, we will truly have something to fear; and that fear will be of our own government.
Politicians seek absolute power; they don’t want our nation to return to a Democratic Republic. The oligarchy now in power in Washington will soon become a plutocracy as evidenced by a growth of income inequality.
The success of our politicians in the creation of ‘red’ and ‘blue’ states has created a distrust of anyone who does not share their political beliefs. Those in Washington have injected issues into our political system which have no reason for discussion at the national level. The constitution is our nation’s definitive document, and to twist the wording, or ignore the truth, is a violation of the law of the land. Religion, human and personal rights are clearly defined, but some choose to ignore facts. Some want to alter the Constitution to fit their personal beliefs. Special interests are driving our nation away from the purpose for which it was founded.
Our leaders lack basic intelligence; the American people have elected fools to govern them. Their fears force them to panic and make rash decisions which in turn create fear among the citizenry. Common sense disappears when emotions control our lives.
Indeed it is time to take our country back; back from the politicians who are intentionally destroying a once great nation.
