Mike Huckabee must make it Thirteen

Huckabee

Mike Huckabee must remove his name from the race for the GOP 2016 nomination. He should join Walker, Perry and Jindal and drop the number of presidential wannabees to thirteen. It would be impossible for him to win the general election, he has proven that he would not represent all of our nation’s people. If you do not claim to be a Christian, he would abandon you.

The former minister is upset because he is involved in a lawsuit. He calls it frivolous and vindictive, as well as a publicity stunt. The lawsuit involves a story the mainstream media turned into a circus.

Kim Davis is a clerk in Kentucky. She refused to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples based on her religious belief. She was sent to jail for violating her job description. Mike Huckabee and Ted Cruz witnessed the opportunity to have their campaigns noticed by the public. When Davis was released from jail, Huckabee was at her side. Standing on a small platform, a song was playing in the background; “The Eye of the Tiger,” by the band Survivor.

The lawsuit was filed by Rude Music, Inc. which is owned by Frankie Sullivan, a guitarist for Survivor. He said he never gave permission for the song’s use, and never would have.

“When the person made a complaint, there was an offer made to pay him and issue an apology,” said the presidential candidate, who continues to struggle in the polls and was demoted to the undercard debate in Milwaukee. “We don’t want to run somebody’s music who hates my guts. I get that.”

Hate is a strong word, and could actually be applied to Huckabee who claims to be a Christian, but in reality he is not. Jesus Christ was not judgmental, He loved all mankind, and He forgave his enemies; this is not a description of Huckabee.

Huckabee is similar to many others in our country who use religion for their own benefit. His major support is the Christian religious right who seek the establishment of their religion as our national religion. Not only is that against the exact wording of the first amendment, it is something I and others would shun, and if necessary fight to the death to prevent.

If the GOP had one qualified and charismatic candidate the clown car would be empty.
