I’m sure that when you read this you too will scratch your head. GOP Congressmen and Senators, in support of the NRA lobby, allow suspected terrorists to purchase guns; any type of gun. They have expressed concern over Syrian refugees, but lack concern for possibly dangerous individuals already present in our country.

I’ll write this in detail because it will be hard for you to believe; but I swear it’s all true.

Individuals residing in the United States who are on the FBI terrorist watch list, and are not allowed to fly, are permitted to purchase any type of firearm they wish. Between 2004 and 2014, the FBI completed 2,233 background checks on these individuals, denying only 190.

Numerous efforts have been made to pass legislation ending this practice, but each time the GOP has voted against the legislation. The NRA gun lobby has forced its servants, the GOP to refuse to protect our people for the increasing profits of gun manufacturers and sellers.

Let me state the facts one more time; terrorists living in the United States are allowed to purchase guns legally. They include assault rifles and high-output magazines. A Paris-type attack could easily happen in our nation, and you and I could be killed by legally purchased weapons of mass destruction.

Tuesday Senator Dianne Feinstein, Democrat from California, re-introduced legislation to change the law.

“One of the most important things we can do to keep this country safe is keep guns and other weapons out of the hands of potential terrorists,” said Feinstein said in a statement to ABC on Tuesday. “The majority of the victims in Paris were shot with Kalashnikov rifles, which are sold at gun dealers and gun shows across this country. There is simply no excuse for Congress to not close this dangerous loophole.”

I’m just going to say it; what the hell is happening in our country!? Has all common sense left our shores? When profit supersedes the safety of our people we have lost all sense of morality. And once again I ask; how can any intelligent person vote for a member of the GOP?

The ideal of America has ‘left the building.’
