Bigotry and Hatred Cannot Define our Nation

Tolerance

Donald Trump, Ben Carson, Ted Cruz and others must not be allowed to be viewed as viable presidential candidates, or even as individuals who are real Americans. Hatred and prejudice are not demonstrative of our nation’s people who believe in the principles which once made America the greatest nation in the world.

Trump is no longer entertaining. He has encouraged his followers to join him as he fabricates situations and continues to add to his repertoire of hate filled remarks. I have little concern regarding his poll numbers, my concern is those who actually give their support to this embarrassing individual. The only matter which should be a concern of all Americans is the fact that he does not possess a single qualification to lead our nation. When questioned about foreign or domestic policies, he is at a loss to give a complete answer. It is rare for him to complete a sentence.

Carson is nearly as despicable as Trump, but he does it quietly. Statements made by the former neurosurgeon, about homosexuals, Muslims, abortion rights, and his strange comment about the pyramids, left me bewildered. How can an educated man be so wrong about so many things? How can he deny science; specifically climate change? He said that he even doubts the reality of gravity. Really?

Cruz is the most extreme member of Congress. His devotion to the TEA Party has removed him from any belief that he would represent the American people if elected. In addition, he would continue to violate the Constitution by ignoring the first, fourth, and fourteenth amendments. His venomous dialogue is harmful to America. His suggestion that only Christian refugees from Syria should be allowed in our nation because they would not be terrorists is not only bigoted, it’s preposterous.

Extremism dominates the GOP. Hatred directed at all Muslims is frightening. The use of fear tactics is deplorable.

Six days after the cowardly attacks of 9/11, President George W. Bush said the following:

“The face of terror is not the true faith of Islam. That’s not what Islam is all about. Islam is peace. These terrorists don’t represent peace. They represent evil and war.”

He never changed his tone throughout his two terms in office.

Political analysts continually discuss the implosion of the GOP. Some members have moved farther to the right than any others in our nation’s history. Their standards, or lack of, would define Ronald Reagan as a Democrat. Barry Goldwater would be called a moderate.

Feuding families cannot exist under a single roof. The separation of true Republicans and the TEA Party is a must. When a member of the TEA Party wins an election, his first act is to make a promise not to compromise; this has destroyed our government and the reason why it no longer functions. Ted Cruz is so extreme that he has severed relations with both Democrats and Republicans. John Boehner once called him a ‘jackass.’

I am calling out all true Americans; those who believe in an America which cherishes freedom, practices tolerance, and is compassionate. We must take our country back, and we have the power; we must vote with intelligence and not with emotion.
