Let’s Take a Ride in the Clown Car

Three passengers

So what’s going on in the GOP race for the presidential nomination today? Let’s take a ride with a few of them in the clown car. There’s no value in it, but it could be good for a laugh or two.

We should always begin with the head clown; sadly, he’s not funny any longer, he’s simply pitiful.

He continues to claim that ‘thousands and thousands’ of Muslims cheered in New Jersey as the World Trade Center crashed to the ground. In response to his plan to create a database for Muslims, a 22-year-old Muslim woman by the name of Marwa Balkar offered an eloquent, (quite the opposite of Trump), response. First she told him that if he ‘walked in her shoes,’ he would know more about Muslims and “you can see that I am not any less human than you are.” In her tweet she said that she decided to wear a badge so she could easily be identified as a Muslim woman; she chose the peace sign. Her choice was based on the teachings of Islam which forbids taking the life of another. You might want to read the entire response in the attached link.

What will Trump now say about previous ally Ted Cruz? They are nearly tied in the Iowa polls. He’s referred to Jeb Bush as a man with ‘low energy,’ and Marco Rubio as a lazy young man. Although he’s not lying, how will he attack Cruz?

Some possibilities include their differences on immigration, campaign finance, and Cruz’ heritage.

Cruz once supported a path to legal residence for over 11 million undocumented residents. He is receiving millions of dollars from Super PACS for his campaign. Trump could question Cruz’s right to seek the presidency. Trump is opposed to what he referred to as ‘anchor babies.’ Cruz was born in Canada to a Cuban father and an American mother, which could be tied to Trump’s proposed change. This could be fun!

Enough about Trump, let’s see what the man who is responsible for more hatred and division in our nation than anyone else in history is saying now. Rush Limbaugh told FOX Noise that Ben Carson is not ‘equipped to be the president.’ Really? Of course he wouldn’t tell the rest of the truth, but none of the 14 candidates are qualified; three of them have never held public office, and know nothing about leading our nation. The other eleven lack experience and knowledge about foreign relations. By the way, Rush is unqualified as well, unqualified to be labeled a member of the human race.

Who’s next? Behind Trump, Cruz, and Carson in the backseat are one other and two stowaways. They are alone in the developed world in their denial of climate change caused by man.

Trump: “Global warming is a total, and very expensive, hoax!”

Cruz: “Climate change is not science. It’s religion. Look at the language, where they call you a denier. Denier is not the language of science. Any good scientist is a skeptic. If he’s not, he or she should not be a scientist. But yet the language of the global warming alarmists, ‘denier’ is the language of religion. It’s heretic. You are a blasphemer.” Huh?

Carson: “There’s always going to be either cooling or warming going on. As far as I’m concerned, that’s irrelevant. You can ask it several different ways, but my answer is going to be the same. We may be warming. We may be cooling.” Another, huh?

Rubio: “Our climate is always changing. And what they have chosen to do is take a handful of decades of research and say that this is now evidence of a longer-term trend that’s directly and almost solely attributable to manmade activity. I do not agree with that.”

John Boehner: “Listen, I’m not qualified to debate the science over climate change.”

Senator Jim Inhofe: “Global warming is the greatest hoax ever perpetrated on the American people. It was true when I said it before, and it remains true today. Perhaps what has made this hoax so effective is that we hear over and over that the science is settled and there is a consensus that, unless we fundamentally change our way of life by limiting greenhouse gas emissions, we will cause catastrophic global warming. This is simply a false statement.”

I’m sorry, if they’re trying to be funny, they are not. They need to come out of the ‘fantasy closet’ and see the real world.

They most important truth which affects all passengers in the clown car is that GOP voters do not support any of the candidates as closely as they identify with Trump. Where were they when the IQ points were distributed?
