Jeb Bush is desperate; but he is also in denial. He is another Bush and would be dangerous conducting either foreign or domestic affairs. But that didn’t stop him from attacking his GOP mate, Donald Trump.
“I have great doubts about Donald Trump’s ability to be commander in chief,” Bush said on CBS’ “Face the Nation.” ”If you listen to him talk, it’s kind of scary to be honest with you, because he’s not a serious candidate.”
He also said: Trump “said we had no interest in being involved in Syria. And then he said let the Russians take out ISIS. And then he said let ISIS take out Assad. I just think he’s uninformed,”
He’s not wrong; Trump lacks the possession of a single quality to be our nation’s leader. What Bush is not admitting is that he has the same problem. He was once a governor, and has been out of office since 2007. He has stated that he would revive his brother’s failed foreign and domestic policies. If elected, he could replace “W” as the worst president in our nation’s 239+ year history. Like his brother, he would be forced to depend on the likes of Cheney, Rumsfeld, and Wolfowitz for foreign policy; he would need his own ‘band of thieves and mercenaries.’
Two Floridians are vying for the GOP nomination; Bush and Marco Rubio. The former is a ‘Bush,’ enough said. The latter is an ambitious young man who is unqualified and has failed to perform the job for which he was elected; he is acting like a ‘Kim Davis.’
But Bush insists that he will win the Florida primary, rebuking Trump’s claim that he is way ahead in the poll and is guaranteed a win. Asked whether he would support Trump if he wins the GOP nomination, Bush said he’s confident that the more voters “hear of him, the less likely he’s going to get the Republican nomination.”
John Kasich has spoken and called Trump a ‘divisive candidate.’ He also said that neither Trump nor Bush will win the GOP nomination. Hillary Clinton nor Bernie Sanders will be required to campaign against the GOP candidates; they are destroying each other. A lack of quality candidates is ‘the gift which keeps on giving’ for the Democratic Party.
I’m sure everyone’s tired of me saying the same old thing, but here goes. The problem with the GOP is a lack of leadership. Reince Priebus is the Chairman of the Republican National Committee. Instead of leading his clown car full of presidential hopefuls, he made two serious mistakes. He disallowed seven candidates from the first debate removing from them an opportunity to reach out to their constituents. Second, he conspired with Roger Ailes and FOX Noise in a failed attempt to derail Trump. This is not leadership.
Now let’s get to the two men who have or had no ability to do their jobs; Mitch McConnell and John Boehner.
Mitch McConnell was the minority leader in the Senate for six years, he has been the majority leader since January of this year. For four of those years he had but a single, self-professed goal; to make certain that President Obama was a one-term president. He failed to lead his party in addressing the important issues before them, and he failed to prevent Mr. Obama’s reelection.
John Boehner recently resigned as Speaker of the House. During his years as the third in line for the presidency, he failed to show both courage and leadership, allowing extremists to control the direction of Congress. Instead of taking control of the situation and exposing the “Freedom Caucus,” he deserted his post.
Sometimes we get what we deserve; the GOP deserves this group of unqualified, spoiled children, who continue pointing angry fingers at each other.
