I’ve listened and read about some crazy people in the political arena, but I think Trump tops them all. I’ve watched news clips of Eugene McCarthy’s efforts to find every communist in America and punish them for their political beliefs. I knew that Richard Nixon was insane when he went into a rant about his dog, Checkers. In the 80’s I had to laugh as Newt Gingrich looked directly into the camera and lied about the goals of his party and his personal life. Dick Cheney was so maniacal about his quest for power that he frightened me through my television set. But Trump surpasses them all. I am forced to believe that he is putting on an act; no one could be that ignorant and harbor so much hatred.

In South Carolina trump attempted to spin his obvious hatred for all Muslims when he spoke about them and made the claim that; “I know so many, they’re so great, they’re such good people.”

We all know ‘the Donald,’ he doesn’t stop with a single comment, he will rant as long as anyone gives him a microphone. He had to double down on his distrust of Muslims and once again focused on the Syrian refugee situation.

“We can’t close our eyes. I don’t know what’s wrong with Obama, he wants to close his eyes and pretend it’s not happening. Why is he so emphatic on not solving the problem? There’s something we don’t know about. There’s something we don’t know about.” Really?

The only thing wrong with President Obama is that he is a human who actually cares about others. This innuendo is so far out there I actually don’t know what to say. But then I remember; Trump was the leader of the ‘birthers.’

The GOP loves crazy; about that there is no doubt. But Trump takes crazy to a new level. He has earned the title of ‘king of the conspirators.’ He actually sees things which don’t exist such as ‘thousands and thousands of Muslims in New Jersey cheering as the twin towers fell.

The only thing crazier than Trump is the fact that he continues to lead in the polls. His supporters must be just as crazy; now that’s truly frightening.
