After 14 innocent people were killed in San Bernardino, GOP Congressmen voted against a bill which would require background checks for the purchase of guns at gun shows and over the internet. They also failed to protect the American people from terrorists already living in the United States by continuing the policy of allowing them to buy weapons of mass destruction.

When will the American people demand GOP politicians to severe their ties with the NRA? They care more about a lobbyist than the people of our nation. We must vote all Republicans and TEA Party members out of office. We, the people, are more important than profit for the gun manufacturers and gun sellers. Hiding behind the ambiguous second amendment is no longer possible.

Read this bullshit from a failed GOP legislator, and analyze his lies.

“The issue transcends political pressure,” said Rep. Dave Brat (R-Va.), who represents the suburbs of Richmond. “At some point you have to decide as a nation what your first principles are. And the Second Amendment has been fundamental for a long time. You gotta ask yourself, is it a right or not? … Is this an important thing to ensure?”

He continued to show his lack of compassion for those killed by guns.

Brat added that acting “on the basis of the Oprah Winfrey-ification of culture, of short-term feelings, that would be a very flawed model to move forward on.” He mimicked a violin when he said “feelings.”

This ass should be impeached. He has no concern for those who elected him. Paul Ryan led the Representatives in rejecting legislation which would have provided some safety for the majority and would have denied special interests increased control over Congress.

There needs to be a sign placed on the door to the House of Representatives: “Under New Ownership, Bought and Paid for by the NRA.”

Hiding behind the vague and undefined second amendment is no longer reasonable. The GOP has already violated the first, fourth, and fourteenth amendments, why do they care about the second? It’s always ‘follow the money.’

Money is truly the root of all evil and the reason our government fails to work. The owners of the GOP are major corporations who buy votes with the use of lobbyists. It’s time for the lobbyists to be barred from Congress, and time to vote out those who fail to protect the American people.

Simply put, yesterday’s vote was for the NRA and against the American people. They do not serve us, the electorate, they serve their masters.

All the rhetoric in the world will not bring back the lives of those children and teachers slaughtered in Newtown, the men and women killed in an Aurora theater, a school in Oregon, a church in South Carolina, or a care center for the disabled in San Bernardino.

This incident and many others in the United States can be attributed directly to the anger and hatred created by the GOP. Their lies about Planned Parenthood resulted in the deaths of three people in Colorado.

The Republican Party of our fathers does not exist. Abraham Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, and other true right wing legislators are rolling over in their graves. We know how George H.W. Bush feels about today’s GOP; just read his book.
