Donald Trump hates every precept that our founding fathers believed in when they created the ‘new nation.’ Is it possible that the GOP will nominate a man who seeks to destroy their principals which are ‘America’ as their candidate for the presidency?
Trump truly hates America. His vision is a totalitarian state where individual freedom is sacrificed for the success of the few. Under his leadership our nation would suffer the same horror instituted by the fascists in Benito Mussolini’s Italy.
His latest tirade suggests that all Muslims should be banned from entering the United States. His supporters cheered wildly. Although he has been denounced by all members of his own party, Democrats, and the President of France, and the Prime Minister of England, he stands by his words.
Trump’s list is growing. He has vocalized his hatred for Hispanics, the disabled, Muslims, and his challengers; who’s next. I’m waiting for an attack on the black population, followed by the LGBT community. He may win the GOP nomination, but he will lose the vote of every demographic other than his supporters who tend to be less educated and white.
If the GOP of today had any resemblance to the actual Republican Party of Abraham Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, or George H.W. Bush, it would find a way to disallow Trump the nomination; but it has no leadership. Although the GOP is composed of many who actually believe in Trump’s racist, bigoted, and misogynistic views, there remain some who continue to believe in our Constitution and the individual rights of all Americans. They cannot be represented by a loud-mouthed lunatic who has no qualifications to lead our nation. He has never divulged one idea to the American people, he simply yells louder and says “I will do it.”
Although you’ll never hear it from other members of the GOP or the media, the real problem facing the GOP is its inability to offer the American people a qualified and energetic candidate who speaks about the issues instead of attacking their opponents and his or her own party. The polls prove that very few support Rubio or Cruz, and even fewer favor Jeb Bush. The others have absolutely no opportunity to reach their goal.
Trump has not only embarrassed himself, he has embarrassed an entire nation. I fear that people around the world believe that he represents all of our nation’s people.
A President Trump would destroy what’s left of our founding father’s nation. Extremists on the right continue to violate the Constitution, or simply ignore that it exists. Under Trump freedom would no longer exist. He would create a list of those he opposed and eventually destroy their lives. Today our nation subsists with the overall existence of fear and hatred; under Trump it would become universal.
We need a leader who will restore our ‘greatness.’ Our greatness was once based on freedom, tolerance, and compassion for our brothers and sisters. We once bravely moved forward with new ideas and creativity. We are now moving backwards into a darker time in our nation’s history. Under Trump the United States of America, the nation which nurtured me for 69 years, would cease to exist.
