Why Mike Huckabee Could Never Be President

MH

Former Baptist Minister Mike Huckabee is polling at two-percent. Only members of the Christian religious right favor the religious extremist. His remarks guarantee the fact that he would not represent all of our nation’s citizens if he were to be elected as our president. This alone eliminates him from contention for the GOP nomination.

His half-truths and bending of facts further prove that he is unqualified to lead our nation. Huckabee was speaking at a fundraiser in Brooklyn, New York, Sunday. He either denied the facts, failed to learn the truth, or simply lied about Israelis who were evicted from their homes in the Gaza Strip in 2005. He claims that Palestinians showed up at their doors with guns and forced them to leave. The truth is that the individuals who evicted Israelis from their homes at gunpoint were members of the Israeli government.

The Gaza Strip has been a ‘real estate’ war for decades. Both Israelis and Palestinians claim ownership of an area measuring 6.8 miles wide and 32 miles long.

Israel was recognized as a ‘state’ in 1948; Palestinians are recognized by the United Nations, but remain a ‘people without a country.’

Huckabee is not concerned about the Palestinian people; they are Muslims.

Zionists began acquiring land in Palestine in 1922; three percent of the real estate quickly belonged to the Jewish people. By 1947 the percentage rose to seven percent. In 1948 a war between Arab nations supporting the Palestinians and Jewish settlers resulted in control of the area which is now the State of Israel.

Huckabee believes that Christians have a duty to support the State of Israel. He said that they are “God’s chosen people” in the Bible. Recently, he said, “No American president should ever put the pressure on Israel to give up land that God gave them the title deed to.”

Huckabee is another Christian extremist who uses portions of the Bible to support his personal beliefs. But he is not a true Christian. He denies the portions of the New Testament which reveal the teachings of Jesus Christ. Huckabee does not believe in Christ’s directives. He remains judgmental and prejudiced. He is nothing more than a religious extremist who does not believe in the first amendment. Given the choice, he would violate the Constitution and install Christianity as our national religion.

I fail to understand why Huckabee remains in the mix. He cannot and should not receive the GOP nomination. We have witnessed the disaster in other nations when a single religion controls the lives of its people.
