Republicans in the Senate passed a bill which would defund Planned Parenthood. They did this knowing that President Obama has promised to veto the piece of trash, and they do not have the votes to overturn that veto.

This is another stupid effort by the GOP to appease its base. It has continuously misled its supporters into believing that Planned Parenthood is first and foremost an abortion clinic. Here are the facts, although I know GOP voters hate facts.

Planned Parenthood is an agency which is designed to aid low-income and poor women with health problems, primarily with their reproductive system. The only times when abortions are performed using federal money is when the situation is the result of rape or incest. Not a dollar of federal funding has been used for elective abortions since 1976. A large part of its finances come from private donations.

Now, here are the truthful facts about the GOP’s efforts to defund the agency.

The vast majority of women who use Planned Parenthood have insufficient income or health care to seek assistance elsewhere, or they are living at the poverty level. Most of those assisted by Planned Parenthood are minorities. The GOP is racist and hates minorities; when they vote, they tend to vote for Democrats. The once Grand Old Party is now a party of hatred, ruthless ambition, and revenge. This is not the party of Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, Eisenhower, or George H.W. Bush.

Voting to defund Planned Parenthood is not only immoral, it’s ignorant. It cannot succeed. The Senate joins the House in stupidity. The House has voted more than 50 times to repeal the Affordable Care Act. It represents the definition of insanity; ‘doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.’

Why doesn’t the GOP return to the Republican ideals and purpose; to care and serve the people of our nation; all of them? It’s obvious that the reason is political ambition and a complete lack of intellectual capability.
