If the GOP has any chance of winning in 2016, they must continue their focus on ISIS; they have no other issues. But let’s get to the truth; ISIS is less of a danger to the American people than mass murders in the United States with the use of a gun, and women and children who die daily from domestic violence.
When a politician doesn’t have a popular position on the issues, fear is the only available tactic. We must not forget that Congress refuses to declare war on ISIS; the American people will not approve of another unwinnable war.
All of the GOP candidates are critical of the manner in which President Obama is handling ISIS, but none of them have offered an alternative with the exception of placing our military in harm’s way once again. If they truly believe that is the only solution, they must find a backbone and declare war; they control both houses.
The GOP has intentionally created fear to a level embarrassing to our nation. One minister in Northern California has encouraged his members to carry guns into church services in direct opposition to the supposed reason people attend church services. Republicans have destroyed the very fabric of what once made our nation great. How ignorant can our nation’s people be? Many of the number of mass shootings would not have occurred if Congress had adopted comprehensive background checks for all gun purchases, banned assault weapons, and high-output magazines. In addition, they must end their opposition and deny gun sales to suspected terrorists already living in the United States.
One small group in our nation’s government has destroyed the reason our nation was founded. We have thrown aside tolerance, understanding, and compassion, and replaced them with fear, intolerance, and hatred.
Do any of those who support the GOP know that ISIS does not have planes or missiles? Do they know the facts that more than 30,000 women and children are murdered each year by someone other than a terrorist who they know well? Do they care that thousands of Americans who face life threatening diseases cannot afford the medication which could save their lives thanks to the greed of the pharmaceutical industry? Does it matter to them that the number of families living in poverty is rising every day? And why are they not concerned about the rise of racism and bigotry in our nation? These are all far more dangerous to our people than ISIS.
Stop allowing yourself to be brainwashed by ambitious politicians. We need a leader with experience and intelligence, not one who uses lies and fear to obtain support.
