Sanctimonious

Sanctimonious: “Showing that you believe you are morally better, or more religious.” This is a description of the GOP candidates for 2016. The hilarious truth about this is that they are inferior to most of our nation’s people because they lack any resemblance to humanity, have no compassion for their fellow man, and hate the nation which gave them an opportunity for individual success.

If the Republican Party had made an attempt to select the worst possible candidates from millions of card-carrying members of the GOP, they couldn’t have done better. It has not offered us one realistic candidate. It would be justice if Donald Trump won the nomination. The GOP must reinvent itself, and return to the principles which once made it an integral part of America’s political system.

I am as tired of talking about the damage which has been done to the GOP and the nation by the TEA Party as you are reading about it. But I tell the truth because I do not have the restriction of being forced to satisfy advertisers. When the Koch brothers created them in 2010, the demise of the American political system began. No longer did positive and constructive ideas emerge from the right side of the aisle, and compromise was removed from their playbook.

The word sanctimonious also includes a belief in religious superiority. The Christian religious right has ruined politics, and is directly responsible for more division and bigotry than any other factor. The GOP must break its ties and cease to support a single religious group. The American ideal of freedom for all religions must return to mainstream society. Republicans must honor the first amendment.

The old saying ‘talk is cheap’ was invented for politicians. In every GOP debate the candidates have made promises, but offer no substantive ideas as to how they will accomplish what is coming from their mouths. If they believe well-informed, intelligent voters would consider placing a mark next to their name on a ballot, they are sadly mistaken.

America needs a working president who supports the majority and not special interests.

One final thought; the male of the species has led our nation with arrogance and bravado for 239 years. Maybe it’s time to give the control to a woman; she might be great, and we know from history that she couldn’t be worse.
