There is little doubt that Ted Cruz is the most extremist of the GOP presidential wannabees; his record proves that fact. Some may believe the award should go to Donald Trump, but that would be a mistake. Trump screams and yells a lot but offers no substance. He is an extremist, but has failed to make a single coherent statement about how he would enact his vile rhetoric. Cruz is more direct and far more dangerous.
Ted Cruz is not an experienced anything, and that includes a politician. He has been caught pandering to his supporters prior to a fund raiser in Manhattan in December, but this time his actions and words were recorded.
Immediately after the Supreme Court upheld same-sex marriage, Cruz made a vow to the Christian religious right that this issue would be at the center of his presidential campaign. He made an attempt to support Kentucky County Clerk Kim Davis for refusing to perform the job for which she was elected, refusing to issue marriage certificates to same-sex couples.
At the Manhattan fund raiser, Cruz told donors that the matter should be left to the states.
Hypocrisy is the fundamental element of the TEA Party, and Cruz is its leader.
Pandering is an ancient political tactic. Cruz is presently pandering to evangelists in Iowa who share his disbelief in the teachings of Jesus Christ. These fake Christians peruse the Bible for passages that support their prejudice and racism, and ignore the instruction of the Prophet they claim to worship.
Cruz denies the Constitution and the intent of our founding fathers that all men and all religions are equal, and have the same rights under the law of the land.
Can America afford to have another man in the White House who claims that he is “a uniter, not a divider,” who would destroy the fabric of America in support of his owners?
Cruz can be labeled a traitor. He does not believe in the Constitution, with the exception of the second amendment. He would violate the law of the land to appease his supporters.
The President of the United States must represent all of the nation’s people. Cruz has openly stated that he would not support women, the working class, the LGBT community, Hispanics, and blacks. He would join Trump and ban Muslims from the United States, while forcing those who are citizens to become Christian.
His pandering to supporters is not surprising. Politicians are well-known for taking any action which would help them acquire campaign funding and votes. What makes this story interesting is that Cruz was caught when he believed there were no cameras or recording devices present. This is similar to the video of Romney speaking to supporters in 2012 when he belittled the working class.
As Cruz’ numbers rise in the polls a serious question arises; have GOP voters become more extreme, more racist, and more prejudiced as well? Have they forgotten real Republicans, and forgone the principles of the party they claim to support? Are they rejecting Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, Eisenhower, Reagan, and George H.W. Bush?
I remember the last three, and Cruz has no resemblance to any of them.
