My grandfather told me when I was a teenager that if I wanted money I would have to work for it; and when I was hired for someone I should give them my best effort in return for a fair paycheck.
Marco Rubio was hired by the people of Florida to work for them in Washington. He is more concerned about his presidential campaign than the voters who elected him. As of this month he has missed one-third of the votes cast in the Senate. Fellow TEA Party darling Rand Paul has been his biggest critic, and says that he should return his paychecks to the American people.
Rubio had this to say about his poor job performance.
“A lot of these votes don’t mean anything, they’re not gonna pass,” Rubio says.
Paul, who is also in the running for the GOP nomination responded.
“The difference between Marco Rubio and I is I show up for work,” Paul said.
And the in-fighting continues within the GOP. Rand dislikes Rubio; Trump is battling Cruz; and Cruz hates America and most of our nation’s people.
Rubio has also been accused of laziness on the campaign trail. He has been cited for resting more than working to achieve the GOP nomination.
The accusations against the junior Senator from Florida are not unfounded. He often appears to be disinterested in his own future. Some of this may be based on the fact that he has little experience, and has no accomplishments to his credit as a United States Senator.
The most damning of Rubio’s failure discounts his loyalty to his TEA Party pledge as well as his interest in our nation’s future. The recent spending bill, known as the ‘Omnibus Bill’ was one of the most important pieces of legislation in 2015. It would either shut down our government or continue its operation for the months ahead. Rubio was absent for the vote. Other presidential candidates, including Bernie Sanders, Ted Cruz, and Rand Paul were in Washington and cast their ballots.
If Rubio became our President, would he follow in the footsteps of Ronald Reagan and George Bush? Would he nap or take vacations while critical legislation was deliberated in Congress or threats to our nation were ignored?
Rubio is a laughable offering to the American people. The only question which remains is can the billionaires who own the TEA Party donate enough money to insure Rubio’s nomination?
