Former New York Governor George Pataki dropped out of the GOP race for the presidential nomination in 2016 today; but does anyone care? The GOP race began with 17 declared candidates, and at least nine of them must have been aware from the day they threw their hat into the ring that they had absolutely no chance to win the nomination. Of course there was one destructive situation which none of them could have foreseen; that a totally unqualified racist, bigot, and misogynist would move quickly to the front and continues to lead his party today.
My only question is ‘why did the clown car reincarnate in 2015?’ In reality there should have been no more than eight presidential hopefuls entering the race. In truth, Trump should never have declared his candidacy. He is totally unqualified and does not believe in the United States of our founding fathers. When he decided to wage war against the Republican Party, confusion and fear began to dominate the once Grand Old Party.
Ben Carson, Chris Christie, Carly Fiorina, Mike Huckabee, John Kasich, and Rick Santorum are either more ignorant than I previously believed or have egos beyond that of Donald Trump. Not one of them had the slightest chance of winning the nomination. In the past months Jeb Bush can be added to this group of failures; poll numbers for the latest Bush family debacle have never reached double digits, and he has frequently proven that his older brother was the ‘smart Bush.’ Rand Paul can be added to the group. He has no hope that his numbers will ever reach a level to challenge Trump, Rubio, or Cruz.
In reality, does anyone who studies the political situation in our nation believe that Trump, Cruz, or Rubio can defeat Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders? Those filled with hatred and a misguided belief in the failed Republican Party may disagree with me, but they would be very wrong.
Trump has completed the destruction of the Republican Party. It was in flux years before the 2016 campaign season began, but he has proven to be the wooden stake in the vampire’s heart.
