Politicians must take Lie Detector Tests

A question; do you believe that Syrian and Iraqi refugees are a greater danger to your future and safety than politicians? The truth should not surprise you; lies from ambitious ‘professional politicians’ have inspired far too many voters to cast their ballots for individuals who are in truth a danger to our American way of life.

Ken Calvert (R-California), has added two proposals to the requirements which would allow a refugee to enter the United States. Currently, there are eight steps which will decide the fate of the applicant. The process takes about two years, and only one-percent will be accepted for resettlement. But that is not sufficient for Calvert.

“It has become all too clear to many Americans that our security screening processes for individuals wishing to enter our country are insufficient,” Calvert said, defending his proposals. However, Calvert opposes preventing suspected terrorists already living in the United States from obtaining assault rifles.

He also said: “Peaceful people who wish to come to our country with good intentions have nothing to fear with these additional measures.”

What are his proposals? They are a waste of time and money. He would require DNA testing, although I’m not sure what that might accomplish. Even more ridiculous, he would force applicants to take lie detector tests. These tests are not admissible in a court of law because they have been proven to be inaccurate in many cases.

I have a counter proposal; I believe that before elections, politicians must take lie detector tests. We should know before, and not after a candidate wins a seat in Congress, if his or her campaign promises are sincere.

Do you believe the hate and misdirection offered by those who seek office? If you do, you are, bluntly, a fool. Those who seek political office are ambitious individuals who want to become members of the wealthy class. They have no intention of serving the American people. The electorate have a right to know who we are voting for. When you are representing over 320 million people, you should be closely vetted, and your character must be flawless.

If lie detector tests had been required prior to the elections in 2008, 2012, and 2014 our government would be in far better shape. Voters have mistakenly elected dozens of unqualified and uncaring legislators. Gridlock is the fault of voters who chose to elect the worst candidates solely for the support of one party; a very serious error.

Although I continually write about the evils of politicians, in truth only the voting public is to blame. If they had failed to receive adequate votes to win elections, our government would have deliberated and compromised as in the past. Electing the ‘party of no’ has ruined our political system, and there is no ‘fix.’ Republicans must be returned to power within the GOP, or one entire party will no longer exist.

If Calvert believes that lie detector tests are fair for refugees, how does he feel about taking one himself. I’m certain he would ‘pooh pooh’ the idea; he’s aware that he would fail badly.
