The Evil of Cheney; the Greed of the Koch Brothers; the Ignorance of Trump

Ignorance breed ignorance

In my nearly 70 years of being a patriotic American, I have witnessed many politicians who placed their personal success above the welfare of the American people. Some of them intentionally did evil things for personal gain, and others are simply ignorant and lack the ability to consider the consequences of their speech and actions.

I was too young to know the evil which was happening under the Joseph McCarthy witch-hunt; but I learned about it a few years later in my teens. He terrorized the American people as he sought to destroy the lives of those he suspected were communists. He used fear tactics to justify his unconstitutional investigations. He would fit perfectly into today’s GOP.

I watched television as Nixon swore to the American people that he ‘was not a crook.’ A short time later he was forced to resign as his illegal activities were exposed to the world. His abuse of power was not only unforgiveable, it placed a cancer upon our nation. I believed at that time that he was the worst president in our nation’s history. Little did I know that the worst was yet to come.

Let me interject here that I love my country for the way it was. I write every day in the hope that our people will take back their country from politicians and make it great once again. I want to once again believe in the ‘Pledge of Allegiance’ as I did in elementary school.

Until 2000, I had never registered to vote along party lines. As I learned more about George W. Bush, I changed my mind. I wanted to be able to make a choice about who would oppose him; I became a Democrat in name only. When he was given the presidency by the Supreme Court I was appalled. I truly believed that our democratic republic had been destroyed in a single moment.

Sadly, my fears were realized. Under the tutelage of Dick Cheney, he invaded two countries and adopted economic policies which nearly placed our nation into a recession. There was no remorse for the thousands of lives lost, and lives ruined financially. His lies to the American people were despicable. The fact that he failed to prevent Cheney from instituting policies of torture gave me proof that he was merely a tool of the most evil man I had ever witnessed. I was repelled that our nation had experienced an even worse president than Nixon.

The Bush Administration was the catalyst for change in America; and it was not good. The Republican Party became corrupted, and eventually resulted in the creation of the TEA Party, financed by the Koch brothers. Our nation lost hope, tolerance, and compassion. It was replaced by fear, distrust, and hatred. It was divided in a manner not experienced since the Civil War.

Here we are today; the GOP is disintegrating under the control of the Koch brothers and their party. They created Donald Trump by their divisive efforts, who is now the standard bearer for the GOP and the symbol of what is the worst of America.

His entire campaign is based on fear and hatred. He attacks anyone who doesn’t agree with his vile rhetoric. However, true to Republican standards, he fails to admit the truth when confronted by facts.

Hillary Clinton called Trump ‘ISIS greatest recruitment tool.’ Trump scoffed. If you have any understanding of how terrorist groups operate, and how religious extremists attract recruits, you know that she was right based on his verbal attacks against all Muslims.

In a recorded interview on ‘Face the Nation,’ Trump was shown a video of an al-Qaeda affiliate, al-Shabab, using Trump’s claim that all Muslims should be banned from entering the United States. John Dickerson challenged the real estate mogul regarding Ms. Clinton’s claim.

The video began with Trump saying: “Donald J. Trump is calling for a total and complete shut down of Muslims entering the united states until our country’s representative can figure out what the f*** is going on,” he summarized the video’s pitch to Muslims in the U.S.

“And then the video goes on and says the West will eventually turn against its Muslim citizens,” Dickerson said. “It’s saying to Muslims, ‘You either join jihad or you leave the United States because of what Mr. Trump is proposing.'”

Of course Trump was unable or unwilling to face the truth. His response:

“Look, there’s a problem,” Trump responded. “I bring it up. Other people have called me and say, ‘You have guts to bring it up because frankly, it’s true but nobody wants to get involved. Now people are getting involved.

“People that are on different persuasions than me right now John are saying, you know maybe Trump isn’t wrong. We want to examine it.”

Trump is evil because he is ignorant. He fails to understand reality and the goals of groups such as al-Qaeda and ISIS. Their ultimate goal is to force a holy war; another Crusade. Although they do not believe in Islam, they use it as a tool to accomplish their goals. It is totally fair to call Trump a buffoon and a fool for assisting extreme jihadists in their ambitions.

Evil exists in our nation, and it has names: Cheney, Koch, and Trump are the destructive forces behind our nation’s demise. Join with me and reject them and their traitorous and vile ambitions.
