Maybe it’s a little crude to say that Christie ‘sucks up’ to the NRA, but facts are facts. Sunday the Governor of New Jersey, and failing presidential candidate, told FOX news that because Republicans have control in both houses, and a majority of sitting governors in the nation, the people have spoken and oppose any new forms of gun control. He obviously has his numbers reversed, and as usual is completely incorrect. He followed by attacking the President for his support of the American People.

A Quinnipiac Poll taken between December 16 and December 20 reveal that Democrats, Republicans, and Independents support changes in our gun laws.

When asked if those polled would support background checks for guns purchased at gun shows or online, the results were nearly even. 95 percent of Democrats were in favor; 87 percent of Republicans, and 86 percent of Independents agreed.

When asked about a nationwide ban on assault rifles, the consensus was 58 percent in favor and 38 percent opposed overall. When asked if it was too easy to buy a gun in the United States, 55 percent said yes, four percent said no, and 36 percent said it was ‘just about right.’

A very serious matter, denied by every GOP presidential candidate, is the ability of those on the FBI watch list to purchase lethal weapons. When asked if they would oppose their ability to buy guns or keep the law presently in force, once again it was overwhelming. 89 percent of Democrats believe that they should be banned from purchasing weapons. They were joined by 77 percent of Republicans and 85 percent of Independents.

Christie is only correct about one thing; 100 percent of the NRA lobbyists believe that there should be no changes.

Christie is another Republican who ignores the wishes of the American people in support of special interests. He has no concern for the safety of the American People.

How can the clown car passengers expect us to vote for them? They will not support us once they are in office. They oppose the American people on every domestic issue and continue to pander to their owners.

Christie is bad for New Jersey, and a danger to the American people. Maybe the NRA will give him a job when he no longer holds political office.
