Trump and his Subordinates Look to the Past

Republicans

The entire campaign season can be summed up in one sentence; Democrats are looking to the future and repairing our nation’s domestic problems, while Republicans want to move our nation backwards and eliminate individual rights and freedoms.

Donald Trump is the present leader of the Republican Party, and his comments are viewed as those of all members of the GOP. Trump is afraid. He is quick to attack, but cannot defend criticism against him personally or professionally. Hillary Clinton claimed that trump is sexist, adding to the facts that he is racist and bigoted. Trump has followed through with his threats to renew attacks against former President Bill Clinton and sexual scandal while he was in office.

“If Hillary thinks she can unleash her husband, with his terrible record of women abuse, while playing the women’s card on me, she is wrong,” Trump tweeted last week. 69 percent of women polled said they would never vote for Trump.

Here’s the problem with this entire situation; this campaign season must be about the American people and their future. Because GOP candidates have no plans for the betterment of our nation’s people, they must live in the past, a past which has no significance to what our next president will face.

Living in the past is what Republicans do best, because they don’t believe in the future. Their plans are to eliminate the progress made during the civil rights movement of the 1960’s. They seek to place women in the subservient role of the 1950’s. Their economic plans would take the majority of Americans families into similar conditions they faced after the great depression. They would ignore the progressive actions of Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush and deport nearly 12 million undocumented workers without intelligent reasoning regarding their benefits to our nation. They would rush our nation into another unwinnable war in the Middle East. They will continue to support the NRA of today, which is solely a lobby for gun manufacturers and gun sellers, ignoring its original purpose of teaching gun safety and responsibility. They would take America back to the dangerous conditions of the ‘old West,’ when ‘shoot first and ask questions later’ was the norm.

Polls reveal that Trump’s tactics fail to resonate with voters. They recognize his lack of qualifications and intellect to lead the nation into the 21st century.

Trump is afraid. He is behind in the polls in Iowa, and if he fails to win in New Hampshire, South Carolina, and Nevada, his campaign has failed. Sadly, for the GOP, he will continue to be a disruptive force throughout the 2016 election.

The media encourages sensationalism; it sells advertisement. However, elections are about the issues and the future of our nation. Ignore Trump; ignore the hype created by the Republican Party and vote according to the candidate’s position on the issues. If they have none, they cannot be elected.

Trump’s campaign is filled with rhetoric; and it’s loud and demeaning to most of the American people. He is dangerous. His ambitions are not concerned with the future of our Nation. He is an opportunist who seeks to make our nation a plutocracy.

Although it was in poor taste when a skywriter flew over the Rose Bowl on New Year’s Day, I must agree: “ANYBODY BUT TRUMP.”
