The Definition of Insanity

The President

Would you do the same thing over and over again and expect different results? If you attempted to do something you knew would always fail, would you question your decision and your intellect? If you answered ‘yes’ to either question, you are a Republican.

The GOP has wasted more of your tax dollars than the Pentagon. Speaker Paul Ryan has proven that he is as ignorant as his predecessor. The House has voted more than 55 times to repeal the Affordable Care Act. This time they added a measure to defund Planned Parenthood. Only one Democrat voted in favor of the bill and three Republicans voted against it. (None of them were members of the TEA Party or the Freedom Caucus.)

The President promised to veto the measure; again; but the obstructionists and extremists in the House introduced the bill once again.

“This legislation would not only repeal parts of the Affordable Care Act, but would reverse the significant progress we have made in improving health care in America,” Obama wrote members of the House in a letter.

Ryan lied to the American people claiming that ‘Obamacare’ doesn’t work. An intelligent and caring Speaker would add proposals which would improve the program instead of destroying a benefit now enjoyed by millions of Americans. (Remember, he has the best health care in the world paid for by your taxes.) But not the Republican Party of the 21st century; they have no ability or inclination to govern effectively. The extremists in the House have actually vowed to never compromise; it’s their way or the highway.

The reason I voted against George W. Bush is the same reason I could never vote for this year’s clown car passengers; they are not intelligent, and they are not true Republicans. I could not believe that the American people elected a president with less than average intelligence. Throughout his administration he proved that voters don’t really care who lives in the White House; they vote for a party and not the best candidate. Our world would be safer and our nation more prosperous if Al Gore had been elected in 2000.

Today the GOP is led and represented by ambitious men and women who have no concern for the people they are supposed to represent. Special interests receive 100 percent of their votes; not a single issue the majority of Americans favor has been mentioned by the 2016 presidential hopefuls.

I miss Republicans who once had ideas and a passion for the people. (Please re-blog.)
