Trump and Rubio are Completely Wrong

you are fired

Let me begin by saying that if you watched the three Democratic candidates on NBC last evening, you actually witnessed a debate. There was a great deal of disagreement, but each had plans to support their positions. All important issues were discussed, and intelligence rather than attack mode was the focus of the evening.

Clinton, Sanders, and O’Malley often agreed on many things, one of which was the importance of diplomacy, a tactic rejected by the passengers in the GOP clown car.

Two of the three leading candidates made inhumane and un-caring remarks yesterday, twisting an incident all Americans should support.

An exchange was made between the United States and Iran for prisoners each held. Four Americans were released and seven Iranians were returned to their country.

If these four men were members of your family, you would be very excited. If you are an American, you would be pleased that they are coming home. True patriots place people before politics, but not Donald Trump or Marco Rubio.

Both men used the exchange as a political ploy. Marco Rubio: “Our enemies now know that if you can capture an American, you can get something meaningful in exchange for it,” Rubio was quoted as saying on Meet the Press on January 17, 2016.

Donald Trump at least stated that he was happy for their return, but added twists to enhance his political standing.

“Now I have to see what the deal is for the four people, because someone said they were getting seven back. So essentially, they get 150 billion plus seven, and we get four. Doesn’t sound too good. Doesn’t sound too good,” Trump said. “I am happy they are coming back, but it is a disgrace they have been there this long, a total disgrace.”

Once again Trump proves that he is not ‘presidential.’ He has no understanding of national security or foreign relations, and completely ignores domestic issues by failing to offer concrete solutions.

The GOP places the profits of the wealthy ahead of people; about that there is no question. But they could pretend to care.
