I have been interested in politics for about 55 years. I have never witnessed two people less qualified and more hateful of American values and principles than Donald Trump and Sarah Palin; they are an embarrassment to the country which raised me. My grandfather told me long ago that religion and politics were taboo subjects at group events. Today that is all anyone can discuss; and religion and politics have been joined in direct opposition to the first amendment.
In this writing I will not define these two failures as the only politicians who are opposed to America’s future. The primary reason that Trump has attracted more attention than any other candidate from either party is twofold. The major media has devolved into an entity which survives on sensationalism, and GOP voters are disgusted with their party’s failure in Washington. There are no candidates from the right who have the experience and qualifications to lead our nation into the 21st century.
Palin’s resurgence as a figure in GOP politics emphasizes the fact that the one Grand Old Party is imploding. During the McCain campaign she proved to be a divisive element within the party. She represents the lack of quality and intellect within the ranks of Republicans. Trump’s acceptance and adulation for her endorsement are proof that he is fearful of a legitimate challenge. It also gives the American public an insight into Trump’s true ambitions which do not include serving all of the American people.
When Palin stood before the media and endorsed the buffoon, she continued her hatred of the American political system. It was never perfect, but until the emergence of her TEA Party darlings it worked. Today it is in total disarray.
“He’s been going rogue left and right,” Palin said Tuesday, with a beaming Trump standing by her side. “He’s been able to tear the veil off this idea of the system.”
She is supporting the destructive element in our system and offers no solution with the exception of the devastation of our nation.
True Republicans have denounced those who claim to represent the party today.
“I thought I was a traditional Republican conservative,” says Bob Dole, the 1996 Republican presidential nominee who represented deep red Kansas in Congress for decades.
Patti Davis, Ronald Reagan’s daughter was asked about today’s Republican hopefuls. She responded about what she believed her father and Nancy Reagan would feel today. In a response to the Supreme Court’s decision about marriage equality she said:
“She was very happy about that decision,” Davis said of Nancy Reagan. “I don’t talk to her too much about politics currently. She’s 94 and I think she has the right to live out the rest of life with a little bit of peace, which cannot be found in the current political scene. But you know, I don’t think she’s too happy about anybody on the current roster right now. I mean, there’s nobody presidential. Not in that group anyway.”
She was most critical when asked about another Bush in the White House.
Asked if Jeb Bush, whose family was tied to the Reagan family for 8 years in the ’80s while Jeb’s father served as Reagan’s vice president, was presidential, Davis responded, “Well, I don’t think he’s presidential, do you?”
It’s up to you America. Do you care about the future of our nation’s people or do you support special interests and the destruction of a nation our forefathers courageously created? Will we become a nation of great people once again or surrender to those who seek a system which will satisfy their ambitions at the expense of the majority?
Please re-blog this if you agree with me. Future generations rely on your decision.
