In November 2014 the Koch brothers were successful when they bought the election of Joni Ernst. She became the first female senator from Iowa. She ran on a platform of misogyny, and the repeal of social programs. Only Ted Cruz voiced more extreme opinions than Ernst.

Her latest attempt to harm the United States and its people was to eliminate EPA efforts to insure that our water supply is safe for consumption. Her goal was to allow big business to add more contributions to the pollution of our streams, rivers, and lakes, as well as underground supplies from the process of fracking.

The clever labeling of the ‘Clean Water Act’ made some less-informed individuals believe that she was attempting to protect the rights of Americans to have safe drinking water; in reality it was an attack on the EPA. A GOP led Congress passed the bill; President Obama vetoed it.

For years the GOP has attempted to remove the EPA. They seek its demise in support of major corporations and big business whose only goal is higher profits at the expense of the environment. They don’t believe in science; they foster ignorance. They entire party scoffs at the fact that climate change is the greatest danger to the world. They want us to believe that a small group of thugs and villains is a greater threat to the world. Politics of lies and misdirection is the primary tactic of the Republican Party.

“Too many of our waters have been left vulnerable. Pollution from upstream sources ends up in the rivers, lakes, reservoirs, and coastal waters near which most Americans live and on which they depend for their drinking water, recreation, and economic development,” President Obama said about the Clean Water Act.

Republicans and TEA Party darlings such as Ernst do not care about the American people; they serve their masters; the wealthiest of our nation’s people. Her allegiance is to the Koch brothers and their ilk who would destroy our nation to acquire increased profits. The Bill of Rights means nothing to them; ambitions supersede the people of our nation.

GOP voters must become informed regarding their choices on the ballot. All TEA Party members are bought and paid for by the Koch brothers; they will never serve the people. Have some courage and do the right thing. Having an “R” next to a name on the ballot does not mean that they are the best choice. Think; don’t follow the crowd. Independence made America great, and only free and informed thought can make it great once again.
