Ignorance and Arrogance in the Republican Party

Buffoon

Donald Trump is now the leader of the Republican Party. Those who thought they were, have made constant efforts to remove Trump from maintaining the lead in GOP polls. Every effort has only made him stronger.

Donald Trump’s success can be attributed to many things, but one stands far above the others.

The Republican Party has been dominated for nearly ten years by extremists. Those same ‘mainstream’ members of the GOP claim that Trump is too much of a ‘moderate.’ In other words, he might get something done. Extremism is destructive and not democratic. These same individuals are ignoring the percentages; they fail to admit that GOP voters don’t like the other candidates.

Trump continues to have a wide lead nationwide, followed by Cruz and Rubio. These two young TEA Party Senators are at the root of the problems in Washington; they are not a solution. They lead the obstructionists who have refused to perform the jobs for which they were elected.

The once Grand Old Party cannot be salvaged. Whether or not Trump wins the nomination, the presidency, or loses both, the party is in shambles; infighting and accusations continue to multiply. It is the reason our nation is divided, and now they have suffered the same fate. Leadership has been the issue. For six years John Boehner and Mitch McConnell allowed extremists, also known as the TEA Party or the Freedom Caucus, to disrupt our nation’s government. They lacked to ability to insist that Republican values  inserted into a more moderate platform would not only succeed in Washington, but also help them win elections.

Fear, anger, and hatred can only control a nation’s people for as long as they allow it. Women, younger voters, and minorities are fully aware that these tactics, with the intent of dividing our nation’s people, only harm everyone with the exception of the one-percent.

The ignorance of the ‘leaders’ of the GOP has cost their party dearly. Their arrogance has proven that the electorate is much wiser than they believed.

Donald Trump says that ‘no one likes Ted Cruz;’ and he is correct. Regardless of his numbers, it is highly unlikely that the leader of Washington’s extremists will carry the GOP banner in November.

If Trump wins three of the first four events in February the ‘fat lady’ can begin her song.
