Noam Chomsky Labels Republicans ‘Life Threatening’

It’s true that I may not have the credibility some would prefer. When I criticize today’s Republicans, the facts are there, but they are, in reality, my opinions. I have often forecast the future based on research and information I received from other authors, and have been more right than wrong.

However, when Noam Chomsky, the noted radical and MIT professor emeritus speaks, we should all listen. He is warning not only the people of our nation, but the entire world of the dangers of radical GOP philosophies and policies.

“Today, the Republican Party has drifted off the rails,” Chomsky, a frequent critic of both parties, said in an interview Monday with The Huffington Post. “It’s become what the respected conservative political analysts Thomas Mann and Norman Ornstein call ‘a radical insurgency’ that has pretty much abandoned parliamentary politics.”

His primary concern is Republican’s denial of climate change caused by man; he said it is a “looming environmental catastrophe.”

It’s difficult for me to believe that all members of the GOP lack intelligence. 97 percent of the world’s scientists involved with the environment have clearly stated that climate change is the greatest danger to the people of the world, and that the time is drawing near when it will become impossible to slow the phenomena or stop it altogether.

Right wing politicians believe in profit before people. They support their owners, major corporations and big business, and continue to vote against regulations to cease their pollution of our water, air, and land.

“What they are saying is, let’s destroy the world. Is that worth voting against? Yeah,” Chomsky said in a recent interview with Mehdi Hasan on Al Jazeera English’s “UpFront.”

Chomsky is suggesting that the electorate perform ‘strategic voting.’ He maintains that swing states are the future of our nation and that they must vote for the best candidate or at least the ‘best of the worst.’

Of course most of you know that I believe that all voters should be Independent. Being a member of a political party and ‘toeing the party line’ in elections is ignorant and the reason our government is broken today. We need leaders, not those who follow their owners.

The immaturity of the GOP presidential candidates was evident when they all criticized President Obama when he rightfully said that climate change is the greatest danger to the world. They claimed that ISIS is more fearful. Of course they deny climate change, so for them a gang of thugs and murderers frightens them. Reality is a far greater reason to be afraid, but if you don’t believe in the truth, you find lesser evils to scare the bejesus out of you.

Finally, we must face the truth; there is no Republican Party. This group of extremist politicians cannot claim to be members of the once Grand Old Party. They have none of the principles, ideas, or concerns for the majority of Americans as did their predecessors.

What can I say about todays “Republicans?” Remember, they gave us George W. Bush and now they are offering us Donald Trump. Really.
