Tomorrow evening the GOP will hold another pretend debate. The first of these debacles was hosted by FOX Noise. It devolved into a planned attack on Donald Trump orchestrated by Reince Priebus and Roger Ailes. It failed miserably, and the aftermath was a battle of words between Trump and fake journalist Megyn Kelly. Trump, who is leading the GOP in the polls by a wide margin, says he will not attend the sideshow Thursday, which is once again moderated by the fake news network.

I am as far away as one can get from being a supporter of Donald Trump, but this may be a very smart move on his part. All of the events the GOP has labeled debates were not. Nothing has been accomplished, and with FOX Noise hosting, the questions will be ‘soft balls’ for this group of totally unqualified candidates, instead of attacks on ‘the Donald.’

All of the fake debates have been filled with attacks; many of which were directed at Trump. He can spend the time in Iowa, New Hampshire, or South Carolina and benefit from boycotting the spectacle. He will continue to receive media attention without being present in Des Moines.

The ratings are likely to plummet; who wants to hear the passengers of the clown car say nothing? Their sad efforts to attack each other, Hillary Clinton, or Bernie Sanders have become embarrassing.

On Tuesday, the real estate mogul called Kelly “a third-rate reporter” and a “lightweight.”

He is not wrong, but I would not give her the title of ‘reporter.’ She is an entertainer and nothing more. FOX is a right wing propaganda machine, not a legitimate news station. The RNC is ‘playing it safe’ by allowing FOX to host the debate. There will be no ‘hard’ questions.

If Trump is not present, there will be plenty of time allowed to attack him in absentia. The goal of Republican leadership is to derail both Trump and Ted Cruz. Will Cruz receive the attacks which would formerly have been directed at Trump?

I will ‘DVR’ the show, but only to see how rough the other candidates might be on the extremist from Texas.
