The TEA Party’s standard bearer is undoubtedly Ted Cruz. He is so far to the right he is wrong. The only comparison to his extremism and hate-filled rhetoric is Rush Limbaugh, who endorses the junior senator from Texas. His tactics are a primary reason why our government is broken and in complete gridlock.
Cruz looks to the past and fears the future. He is a prophet of the philosophy of doomsday, and not a forward thinking politician. His goal is to destroy the advances made for the working class in the last 60 years and bow to the wishes of his special interest owners.
Although I am not a supporter of Donald Trump, he would be far more acceptable than Cruz. Trump has frequently praised himself for the ‘art of the deal.’ American politics cannot be successful without deliberation and compromise; Cruz has pledged never to compromise.
“Donald Trump’s position on health care is that he supports Bernie Sanders-style socialized medicine for everyone,” Cruz said. “He doesn’t think Obamacare goes far enough, he wants to expand it.”
He also attacked Trump for his past statement saying that he was ‘pro-choice.’
Cruz, like most GOP candidates is not thinking clearly. He is giving credence to the reason Trump is leading in the polls. Trump would work across the aisle to accomplish necessary legislation for domestic issues. Although Trump is not the right solution, Cruz and his cronies are the problem.
As for health care, Cruz doesn’t believe that the American people should have access to adequate medical treatment, although he has the best ‘money can buy’ thanks to the American taxpayer. He has attempted to repeal Obamacare multiple times; he doesn’t want you to survive disease or other medical catastrophes.
I have often been asked if I support abortion. My answer has never changed. I oppose abortion in most cases, but I would never attempt to prevent a woman from terminating an unwanted pregnancy; it’s her body and her future, not mine. I don’t believe that any man has the right to control what a woman does with her own body.
Cruz does not believe in my America; he has his own twisted view of what our nation should be. Under Cruz, and taken from his own words, the United States would be a Christian nation by repealing the first amendment. Under Cruz, the American people would experience the end of the middle class; there would be three levels; the wealthy, low income, and poverty. Under Cruz, women would be relegated to third class citizens; first would be men, second, a fetus, and in third place all women. Under Cruz, education would be defunded. Under Cruz, the Environmental Protection Agency would be eliminated so corporations could continue polluting our air, water, and land. Under Cruz, every man, woman, and child would carry a firearm. Under Cruz, only the wealthy would have health care. Under Cruz blacks and Hispanics would be forced into virtual slavery. Under Cruz, our military would be rushed into another unwinnable war in the Middle East.
Trump would be a worse president than George W. Bush, but he would be a far better choice than Ted Cruz.
