Bernie Madoff in Second Place behind Dick Cheney

Lucifer

First of all, let me say that if anyone has a positive opinion about former vice-president Dick Cheney, they obviously don’t want to face the facts about the failed politician.

Cheney’s crimes are well-know, and cannot be hidden. He is undoubtedly the architect of the illegal invasion of Iraq. He insisted that the banks do business without oversight, resulting in the bankruptcy of our nation. Cheney authorized the torture of suspected terrorists; and said he would do it again. His former company, in which he continues to be invested, was given a ‘no-bid’ contract for supplies to our soldiers in Iraq. Haliburton offered many items, including soda, for which it charged as much as seven-dollars a can.

Bernie Madoff’s ‘Ponzi’ scheme bilked many Americans of their retirement and virtually ruined their lives. He was sentenced to 150 years in prison. He suffered a heart attack while incarcerated and will likely succumb to stage four kidney cancer.

ABC is producing a miniseries called “Madoff.” The main character is played by the accomplished actor Richard Dreyfuss. In a recent interview the actor was asked: “What was it like playing arguably the most despicable man in modern history?”

His response was: “Actually, he’s the second most despicable man, because I’ve already played Dick Cheney,” Dreyfuss quipped. He reminded the interviewer that he had played Cheney in the Oliver Stone movie “W.”

He’s not wrong. Cheney is responsible for bankrupting our nation and placing our military in two unwinnable wars. Nearly 6,000 Americans were killed and tens-of-thousands of innocent civilians.

Why Cheney isn’t in prison I’ll never understand.
