Chris Christie Ignores the Issues and Plays Attack Dog

Christie (2)

Desperation: “The feeling of being in such a bad situation that you will take any risk to change it.”

This is the definition of the condition in which many Republican presidential hopefuls find themselves, and Chris Christie is one of them. He has constantly chosen to remain in attack mode, primarily focused on Marco Rubio. The Governor of New Jersey is fully aware that if he does not finish well in New Hampshire, his hopes are likely dashed. In the latest composite poll Christie is in sixth place with only 6.3 percent; Rubio is at 11.8.

The good news for Christie is that Rubio is currently in second place behind Donald Trump who polls at 32.8 percent. Replacing Rubio is a possibility, but only if attack mode works.

“This isn’t the student council election, everybody. This is an election for President of the United States. Let’s get the boy out of the bubble, and let’s see if he’s ready to play next week in New Hampshire, I’m ready to play,” Christie told reporters Tuesday.

Christie claims that he’s ‘just not ready to be the president.’

“I would challenge anyone to show me the significant accomplishment that Sen. Rubio has done while he is in the United States Senate; I can’t find one,” Christie said.

Attack, attack, attack; that is the only tactic adopted by Republicans. They don’t care about the issues and offer no solutions to our nation’s serious problems, several of which offer the greatest danger to the American people in our nation’s history.

It’s difficult to know if Christie has confidence that his direct attacks on Rubio will work or if his desperation has forced him to take the low road.

“This New Hampshire primary is now down to a choice between me and Marco Rubio, and everybody knows it,” Christie said Wednesday. “Sen. Rubio knows it. I know it. That’s why he is engaged with me and why I am engaged with him.”

In New Hampshire, Rubio, Cruz, and Kasich are virtually tied with 11.8 percent, 11.3, and 11.0 respectively. If Christie can somehow upset all three and end behind Trump, the entire GOP campaign season will have additional questions and concerns for mainstream Republicans.

Does anyone know where Republicans stand on income inequality, women’s rights, or the minimum wage? I don’t think that they want to talk about them right now.
