Saturday night’s debate by the Republican candidates was more of the same; many attacks with little substance. The winner was likely Donald Trump who actually answered a few questions. The huge loser was Marco Rubio. He revealed his lack of knowledge and the fact that he is totally unqualified to lead our nation when he repeated the same memorized campaign slogan at least four times. New Jersey Governor Chris Christie called him out for his lack of ability to ‘think on his feet,’ and his inadequacy as a candidate.
Today Rubio is in complete denial regarding his failure in front of a New Hampshire audience. He arrogantly repeated his mantra once again in an interview this morning.
“I feel great about it,” the Rubio said on “CBS This Morning” Monday. “Voters across the country and especially here in New Hampshire got to hear me say repeatedly the truth–that Barack Obama is trying to redefine the role of government in our country and America’s role in the world.”
This foolhardy statement simply reaffirms his lack of understanding of our nation’s past and how government should work. He is part of the destructive force in our nation known as the TEA Party or the Freedom Caucus; they want to change our government and move it from a democracy to a plutocracy. He has no ability to deliberate and compromise; this is against the policy of his party, which has no resemblance to the once respected Republican Party.
Rubio continued to deny the facts, and touted the claim that he obtained seven delegates in the Iowa Caucus.
Personally, I was embarrassed for Rubio during the debate. He acted like a small child caught with his hand in the cookie jar. What he didn’t appear to be was ‘presidential.’
