First impressions are given more importance than they deserve, especially in the case of politicians. Even though he is a member of the traitorous TEA Party, Marco Rubio appeared to be a young man who was intelligent and sincere. After eight pretend debates, and listening to multiple campaign statements, I now know that he is not only unqualified, but lacks the basic skills to lead our nation. He appears to be more like George W. Bush, and could be Jeb’s younger brother.
I now question his intellect as he has proven that he cannot think or speak without a script. His pension for repeating himself and inability to answer a direct question are similar to our 43rd president. He fails to address the issues, spending most of his time attacking Hillary Clinton with falsehoods.
Another similarity is the support of mainstream Republicans. Bush also received their support, even when he used unethical means to derail John McCain.
One very large concern I have is his work ethic. He appears to be as lazy as Bush, who spent more time on vacation than any other president in history, and allegedly took naps even in times of crisis. Rubio has failed to perform his job in the Senate 40 percent of the time during this campaign season. Reports from the field also maintain that he is not an aggressive campaigner, choosing to rest frequently instead of attempting to influence voters.
We definitely don’t need another Bush in the White House. What we need is not evident in Rubio. His questionable intellect and lack of hard work are far too similar to Bush.
The truth is that the Republican Party has offered its supporters nothing for 2016. The candidate’s rhetoric has become an embarrassment and unfair to the voting public, who want discussion of the issues instead of vile attacks on each other.
Only John Kasich has addressed the domestic problems facing our nation, and it is highly unlikely that he will win his party’s nomination.
